NOT Ben Stokes, Michael Atherton wants THIS player to be England’s white-ball captain
Former England legend Michael Atherton wishes Harry Brook to be given the duty of white-ball captain since Jos Buttler has stepped down from the role.

England team have not announced the name of their new captain for the white-ball format since Jos Buttler has left the leadership from both the limited overs format. On that topic, former England legend Michael Atherton has stated that Harry Brook should be the new captain.
Atherton told Sky Sports, "I think it's the right decision not to put too much burden on Stokes. He has a clear project with the Test team and at the age of 33, his body is getting a bit weak. Hamstring injuries have kept him out for long periods of time recently, so it would not be wise to give him more responsibility.”
Atherton said, "That Test project has been largely successful. It will ultimately be defined by the Ashes in Australia and the series against India at home this summer. It is important to keep Stokes focused on that."
Even though Harry Brook has less experience as a captain, he has been consistent performer in England's white-ball team. He has played 26 ODIs and 44 T20 matches.
Atherton said, "He did a very good job. Based on the evidence, it did not affect his game and probably made his game better."
Atherton has said that Brook has a massive task ahead of him. Apart from his batting, he will have to manage a team that struggles with change and poor performances, stating that the leadership role comes with intense examination.
