Now, it’s Brett Lee’s turn

Ringing the five-minute bell at Lord’s ahead of a day’s play in a Test match is considered to be as prestigious as playing a match at the iconic venue. On day two of the ongoing Ashes Test at Lord’s the honours went to former Australian cricketer Brett Lee.

The menacing pace bowler, who has played two Tests at this venue and has 310 Test wickets for Australia, rang the five-minute on Friday. He remains the only man to have taken two five-wicket hauls at Lord’s in ODIs, and is the most successful overseas limited-overs bowler at the ground.

Before the commencement of play on day one, the bell was rung by former Australian captain Ricky Ponting.
