Angad Bedi shared a picture with his father Bishan Singh Bedi on the latter’s birthday on Instagram. He wrote, “And a very happy birthday to you father. Have a super year. #bishanbedi #legend #guru#sport #cricket proud to be your son. Just don’t say run 20 rounds please (sic).” Angad, who played cricket for Delhi Under-16. However, he left cricket for a more glamourous life in Bollywood. Angad has hosted cricket shows during Indian Premier League (IPL) and regularly shares pictures of himself working out at Zaheer Khan and Yuvraj Singh’s fitness club. His father Bishan Singh Bedi is one of the prolific spinner to have graced the sport for India.

Bishan Bedi also captained India for a short span. Two years back, he said, “Cricket, to a large extent, is a growing industry. It was there long before we played. It is very difficult to convince the present lot about the history of cricket.”

An active participant in Jammu and Kashmir cricket, Bedi, earlier appealed to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to help the beleaguered state after another round of turmoil has threatened to derail their upcoming Ranji Trophy campaign. “Like the ICC must pitch in to revive West Indian cricket, the BCCI must intervene to help J&K cricket. Please don’t treat it as just a unit which will ensure a vote. The players there have so much talent and hunger for the game. They need proper direction, but the administration has strangled them for its petty vote politics. How can you perform under so much fear,” said Bedi.
