Pakistan PM announces Week-long holiday for Hong Kong sixes victory, R Ashwin asked for a victory parade – But the twist is…

Following Pakistan's victory in the Hong Kong Sixes, their PM Shehbaz Sharif announced a week-long national holiday, with R Ashwin replying for a parade. However, the post comes with a twist.

After Pakistan team won the Hong Kong Sixes, their Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a week-long national holiday on social media. Several people have questioned this revelation, as how can a PM declare national holiday just for winning a tournament like Hong Kong Sixes. But for the Men in Green, this was also a major feat.

Ever since the post was made on X (formerly known as Twitter), it has been making rounds. “Congratulations Pakistan cricket team on winning the Hong Kong Super Sixes. Although we can’t beat Indian commentators XI, this victory is nothing short of a World Cup win! I would like to declare 1 week national holiday on this joyous occasion,” the post read.

Since the post labelled this victory to be nothing less short of a World Cup victory, former Indian spinner R Ashwin gave a reply to the tweet and write, “victory parade pls (added with a folded hands emoji),” which implies the Tamin Nadu star to be mocking the Men in Green.

However, there is a twist to this threat of social media posts. Actually the official X account of Pakistan PM goes by the name of Shehbaz Sharif, while the name of this account is Shahbez Sharif – implying this is a parody account. On top of that, the request by Ashwin for a victory parade to be held was also made from a parody account.

Speaking about Pakistan, they beat Kuwait in the final and won Hong Kong Sixes for the sixth time – the most by any team. Their sole defeat was against India, where they lost by two runs in a rain-affected match. However, the Commentators XI could not manage to emerge victorious in any other match and got knocked out in the league stage.
