The Scorchers are set to clash with Brett Lee’s Sydney Sixers in Wednesday’s final. It will also be their fourth straight Big Bash League final.

Perth Scorchers’ Michael Carberry’s 50 runs off 36 deliveries helped set a decent total of 144 for seven in 20 overs but defensive bowling especially Andrew Tye’s four for 18 won the match for them as they handed Melbourne Stars their fourth successive semi-final exit.

The Stars’ hopes of winning the match disappeared after Pietersen’s dismissal (31 off 27 balls) and they were bowled out in the final over trailing 18 runs.
