The sound of the timber is what makes the bowler most happy.

The sound of the timber is what makes the bowler most happy. The above photograph was captured by Stu Forster of Getty Images, when Worcestershire batsman Alexei Kervezee was clean bowled by Somerset bowler Peter Trego, during the second day of a Division One LV County Championship match between Worcestershire and Somerset at New Roadon Monday in Worcester, England.

After winning the toss Worcestershire asked Somerset to bat first. Batting first, Somerset posted 250 runs on the board. Somerset in return got off to a disastrous start as they lost three early wickets at the score of 44. Kervezee along with Alex Gidman were weathering the early storm, when Kervezee fell prey to Trego’s canniness on the second day. Kervezee tried to place a straighter delivery from Trego towards the fine leg, but missed the ball completely.

The leather crashed on to the timber as the leg stump went for a somersault. Like any bowler, this would have certainly delighted Trego.
