Former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes is currently working as a commentator and cricket expert in the ICC World T20 2015 qualifiers, which is being played in Ireland and Scotland. Rhodes, who has been associated with cricket in one way or the other, was blessed with a baby girl during the 2015 edition of Indian Premier League (IPL), wherein he is with the Mumbai Indians as their fielding coach. Rhodes and his wife decided to name their girl child India because of the rich cultural and religious heritage of the Asian country. Rhodes told Mid-DAY, “I have spent a lot of time here [in India]. What I love about India is that it’s a rich mix of culture, heritage and tradition. It is a very spiritual country, very forward-thinking nation. I really like that co mbination. You have to have a good balance of life. With the name like India, she will have the best of both worlds and that sort of balance.”

“What we really like about India is that everyday we discover something new about this country. As people, we like discovering things about yourself and that’s hopefully what she [the baby] will also discover,” added Rhodes.
