Ravichandran Ashwin went unsold in the ILT2- auctions, to which he himself has cleared air on what happened.
Countless number of cricket fans and experts were expecting R Ashwin to get picked up when teams were allowed to ask the unsold players to be recalled. Since several teams were having a big purse remaining, it was highly expected that Ashwin will go for a big number.
However, to everyone’s surprise, R Ashwin was not among the 44 players that got named to be brought up for bidding, to which the superstar spinner himself shared his views- confirming that he withdrew his name from the auction and was not available to be picked later in the day.
“That’s the price I wanted as a bare minimum, and I’m happy not to play at this stage of my career if my value isn’t met. I was about to pull out a few days before the auction because of the Thunder deal, but since I had already committed to the ILT20 that I would enter the auction, I honoured my word. However, I did not agree to lowering my base price,” said Ashwin to Cricbuzz.
