These are the players who gave sensational performances either with the bat or with the ball in different editions of the ICC tournament and took home the coveted award
1. Jacques Kallis (South Africa)
The legendary South Africa all-rounder was the star performer for the Proteas in the inaugural edition of the Champions Trophy in 1998, scoring 164 runs and picking up 8 wickets. Kallis was the second highest run-getter as well as the top wicket-taker in the tournament.
2. Ramnaresh Sarwan (West Indies)
The West Indies batter was adjudged as the player of the series in the 2004 Champions Trophy. Sarwan scored a total of 166 runs in the tournament and his half-centuries against South Africa in the group stages and against Pakistan in the semi-finals was crucial in the Windies reaching the final.
3. Chris Gayle (West Indies)
The former West Indies batter dismantled bowlers during the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy campaign. Gayle scored a total of 474 runs in the tournament which included 3 brilliant centuries. His highest individual score was an impressive 133.
4. Ricky Ponting (Australia)
The legendary Australia batter was adjudged as the player of the tournament in the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy. Ponting scored a total of 288 runs in the tournament which included a century and 2 half-centuries. His highest individual score was 111.
5. Shikhar Dhawan (India)
The former India batter gave brilliant batting performances throughout the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. Dhawan scored a total of 363 runs in the ICC event which included 2 marvelous centuries and thus, he was adjudged as the player of the tournament.
6. Hasan Ali (Pakistan)
The Pakistan pacer was at the top of his game during the Men in Green’s 2017 ICC Champions Trophy campaign. Hasan picked up a total of 13 wickets in the tournament and was also the highest-wicket taker of the ICC event’s eighth edition.
7. Rachin Ravindra (New Zealand)
The New Zealand all-rounder was terrific with the bat in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Rachin was the highest run-getter of the tournament with 263 runs under his name and also contributed well in the bowling department.
