The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 eliminator clash between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans might have the threat of getting washed out, as clouds have constantly been looming over Chandigarh from the morning of the match day.
Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are going to face each other as the eliminator match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 in Mullanpur, Chandigarh. However, this match has a threat of rain spoiling all the fun.
There was heavy rain in Chandigarh on Friday, and clouds were above he city the whole afternoon. Now the question rises that if this match gets unfortunately called off, what will further happen and which team will move further.
After Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the Qualifier 1, the pitch and the field was covered because of the chance of oncoming rain. The whole city saw rainfall in the morning hours of Friday, which also filled lot of places with water.
There were no signs of visible sun by the noon as well. The the question is that is there any reserve day for the eliminator? If not then which team will proceed to the Qualifier 2. Though weather forecast show clouds over the city for thew whole day, chances of rain are quite low.
There is no reserve day kept for the eliminator clash. After the eliminator match, the winning team is set to travel to Ahmedabad the very next day in order to okay the Qualifier 2.
If the match gets called off, having no reserve day means that Gujarat Titans will proceed to the Qualifier 2 clash- as they are above Mumbai Indians in the points table. Then GT will face Punjab Kings, who secured their name in the Qualifier 2 setup after a loss to RCB.
