These are the bowlers who stepped up their game in ICC finals and performed brilliantly to give their respective sides the upper hand
1. Mohammed Shami (India) – 9 wickets
The veteran India pacer has so far featured in 3 ICC finals, picking up a great number of wickets. Shami will be looking to increase his tally when he takes the field against New Zealand for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy final.
2. Mitchell Starc (Australia) – 9 wickets
The left-arm Australia pacer has so far featured in 4 ICC finals and especially gave a brilliant performance in the 2015 ODI World Cup final against New Zealand. Starc will most likely be featuring against South Africa in the World Test Championship final later this year.
3. Trent Boult (New Zealand) – 8 wickets
The former New Zealand seamer featured in a total of 4 ICC finals for the Black Caps. Boult played a massive role in the Kiwis’ success in ICC tournaments and gave brilliant bowling performances in the finals as well.
4. Glenn McGrath (Australia) – 8 wickets
The legendary Australia pacer featured in a total of 5 ICC finals for the Baggy Greens. McGrath was one of Australia’s most important players for several years and he always stepped-up big time in finals of major tournaments.
5. Ravichandran Ashwin (India) – 7 wickets
The former India spinner featured in a total of 4 ICC finals for the Men in Blue. Ashwin gave valiant contributions with the ball in all the major tournament finals he played in.
