1. Shane Warne - 57 wickets

The former Rajasthan Royals skipper still holds the record for most wickets taken as captain in the IPL despite featuring in the league a long time ago. Warne wasn't just great with the ball, but also had brilliant leadership skills as he led the Rajasthan-based franchise to the IPL title in the inaugural season of the league back in 2008.

Hardik Pandya

2. Hardik Pandya - 32 wickets

The Mumbai Indians skipper has been exceptional with the ball as the side's captain. Pandya recently became the first-ever skipper in the league to pick up a 5-wicket haul and has already picked up an impressive tally of 10 scalps in just 4 matches in the ongoing IPL season.

Anil Kumble

3. Anil Kumble - 30 wickets

The former Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper featured in a total of 26 IPL matches in the role. Kumble was fantastic with the ball during his time as captain of the Bengaluru-based franchise and racked up a great number of scalps.

Ravichandran Ashwin

4. Ravichandran Ashwin - 25 wickets

The former Kings XI Punjab captain played a total of 28 IPL matches in the role. Ashwin had a decent captaincy record for the Punjab-based franchise, picking up a decent number of scalps during his time as the skipper.

Pat Cummins

5. Pat Cummins - 22 wickets

The Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper not only has a great captaincy record in the IPL, but has also racked up a big number of scalps while featuring in the role. Cummins has so far played 21 matches as the Hyderabad-based franchise's captain and is expected to play many more matches for them in the upcoming seasons as well.

Zaheer Khan

6. Zaheer Khan - 20 wickets

The former Delhi Daredevils skipper was fantastic with the ball for the side in the IPL. Zaheer played a total of 23 matches for the Delhi-based franchise in the role and gave valiant contributions in their victories with his impressive bowling performances.

Yuvraj Singh

7. Yuvraj Singh - 18 wickets

The former Kings XI Punjab and Pune Warriors India captain played a total of 28 matches in the role in IPL. Though Yuvraj was more renowned for his batting, his bowling skills were also pretty good. The all-rounder racked up a decent number of scalps while featuring in the role of skipper in the league.
