Rohit Sharma to Abhishek Sharma: Indian batters with Highest scores in Powerplay overs in T20 matches

Indian young opener Abhishek Sharma has recently become the highest scorer in powerplay overs for India. He has scored 58 runs in first 6 overs in Mumbai.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is another young opening batter for India, who recently had the highest powerplay score on his name. Abhishek recently broke the record, but Jaiswal has a record of 53 runs in first 6 overs.

During the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, skipper of that time Rohit Sharma scored 51 runs in the powerplay against Australia.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma has his name for the second time in the record with a score of 50 runs in the powerplay overs for India in T20 International cricket.

During the 2021 T20 World Cup against Scotland, KL Rahul scored a half-century just within the powerplay overs in itself.

Shikhar Dhawan came very close to score a half-century within the powerplay overs, but could not manage to do so. He scored 48 runs against Sri Lanka in 2016.

Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has yet another record score in the powerplay overs, when Indian team was in Zimbabwe after 2024 T20 World Cup.
