These are the players who weren't able to contribute much for their respective IPL franchises as they either got ruled out ahead of the season or got ruled out mid-season due to different injuries
1. Allah Ghazanfar (Mumbai Indians)
The South Africa pacer was acquired by the Mumbai Indians for a fee of INR 75 lakh. Williams made a name for himself in the 2023/24 season of SA20, picking up 15 wickets in just 9 matches for the Joburg Super Kings. However, he got ruled out of IPL 2025 with a knee injury and was replaced by South Africa all-rounder Corbin Bosch.
2. Lizaad Williams (Mumbai Indians)
The India pacer was acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders for a fee of INR 75 lakh at the 2025 IPL auction. It was expected that Umran will be able to revive his career through his stint with last season’s winners, however disaster struck ahead of the beginning of the 2025 campaign. The seamer was ruled out of the tournament due to a back injury and was replaced by Chetan Sakariya.

7. Ruturaj Gaikwad (Chennai Super Kings)
The Australia spinner was acquired by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for a fee of INR 2.40 crore at the 2025 IPL auction. Zampa could have strengthened the Hyderabad-based franchise’s bowling attack by a big margin, however he got ruled out of the season due to an unspecified injury and was replaced by uncapped India batter Smaran Ravichandran.
8. Adam Zampa (Sunrisers Hyderabad)

Gurjapneet could have been a vital player for the side in the bowling department, however was ruled out of the tournament due to an unspecified injury and was replaced by South Africa batter Dewald Brevis.
