Shubman Gill appointed India’s new ODI captain: Let’s look at his net worth and all his earnings!

The selectors in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to chose Shubman Gill to lead India in the three-match ODI series against Australia. Sources have indicated that this decision was taken while considering the long-term plan in preparing Gill for the ICC World Cup 2027.

Looking at Shubman Gill’s net worth in 2025, it is estimated to be around 4-6 million USD (approximately Rs. 32-34 crore). This estimate is as per Zee News, Times Now and other agencies. He has a number of sources of income, namely BCCI contracts, IPL salary, match fees, brand deals, etc.

Shubman Gill currently has a Grade A central contract with the BCCI, which ensures him a salary of Rs. 5 crore. On top of that, he gets Rs. 15 lakh for each Test, Rs. 6 lakh per ODI, and Rs. 3 lakh every T20I which he features in. Since he has been a regular player across all formats, Shubman roughly earns Rs 6-7 crore per year directly from the cricket board.

Shubman Gill’s career in the Indian Premier League (IPL) began in 2018 where Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) signed him for Rs. 18. crore. Gujarat Titans (GT) later picked him in 2022 for Rs. 8 crore. By 2025, his retention fee went as far as Rs. 16.5 crore.
So far, Shubman Gill has earned close to Rs. 27 crore only from IPL signings.
