Shubman Gill to Mohammad Rizwan: 7 players to watch out for in India vs Pakistan Champions Trophy clash

Rohit Sharma

1. Rohit Sharma

The India skipper has recently looked in good touch in the one-day format. Rohit played a fantastic knock of 119 against England in the recently-concluded ODI series and also played a decent inning of 41 against Bangladesh in the Men in Blue's Champions Trophy opener.

Babar Azam

2. Babar Azam

The Pakistan batter did come under a lot of criticism following his ultra slow knock of 64 runs from 90 deliveries in the tournament opener against New Zealand. However, Babar is someone that the Indian team cannot afford to underestimate as he can very well turn out to be a nightmare for the bowlers as well.

Virat Kohli

3. Virat Kohli

The India star batter comes into the marquee clash in a desperate need to regain his form. Though he wasn't able to impress in the match against Bangladesh, there is a reason why Kohli is known as a big-game player. The Indian team and fans will be hoping that he finally gets back to form in the clash against the Men in Green.

Mohammad Rizwan

4. Mohammad Rizwan

The Pakistan skipper hasn't been in the best of form coming into the match against India. However, Rizwan is someone who can very well go on to hurt the Indian bowlers if he is taken lightly. Like Kohli, Rizwan is also in a desperate need to get back into form and there wouldn't be a better way to do it than scoring against India.

Shubman Gill

5. Shubman Gill

The India batter is arguably the most in-form player in the team at the moment. Gill gave a terrific performance in the ODI series against England and topped that off with a century against Bangladesh in the Men in Blue's Champions Trophy opener. He will be the batter that the Pakistan bowlers will be looking to get rid of as quickly as possible.

Shaheen Afridi

6. Shaheen Afridi

The Pakistan pacer hasn't been in a great form coming into the match against India. However, the Indian batters cannot afford to take Shaheen lightly as he can really turn out to be a headache for them with his swinging deliveries. The left-arm seamer is also one of Pakistan's most experienced players in their current squad.

Mohammed Shami

7. Mohammed Shami

The veteran India pacer proved that he has still got it by picking up an amazing fifer against Bangladesh in the Men in Blue's Champions Trophy opener. Shami will be looking to continue his fabulous form in the format by putting in another impressive bowling performance in the marquee clash against arch-rivals Pakistan.
