01. Graham Gooch (456 runs)

Former England legendary player Graham Gooch tops the list of batsmen with most Test runs in a single Test match. He smashed 456 runs against India in 1990. He scored 333 runs in first innings and followed it up with 123 runs in second.

02. Shubman Gill (430 runs)

India rising star and newly appointed skipper Shubman ranks second on the list of top 10 batsmen with most runs in a single Test match. Gill smashed 430 runs against England in 2025 in Birmingham, Edgbaston. He scored 269 runs in first innings and followed it up with 161 runs in second.

03. Mark Taylor (426 runs)

Former Australia cricketer Mark Taylor ranks third on the list of top 10 batsmen with most runs in a single Test match. He smashed 426 runs in 1998 against Pakistan. Taylor scored 334 runs in first innings and followed it up with 92 runs in second.

04. Kumar Sangakkara (424 runs)

Former Sri Lanka capatin Kumar Sangakkara ranks fourth on the list of top 10 batsmen with most runs in a single Test match. He smashed 424 runs in 2014 against Bangladesh . He scored 319 in first innings and followed it with 125 in second.

05. Brain Lara (400 runs)

Former West Indies legend Brian Lara ranks fifth on the list of top 10 batsmen with the most runs in a single Test match. He scored an unbeaten 400 against England in the first innings but failed to open his account in the second.

06. Greg Chappell (380 runs)

Former Australia cricketer Greg Chappell scored 380 runs against New Zealand in 1974. He smashed 247 runs in first innings and followed it up with 133 runs in the second.

07. Matthew Hayden (380 runs)

Former Australia cricketer Matthew Hayden scored 380 runs against Zimbabwe in 2003. He smashed 380 runs in the first innings and but failed to open his account in the second.

08. Sunil Gavaskar (344 runs)

Former India legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar scored 344 runs against West Indies in 1971. He smashed 124 run in the first innings and followed it up with 220 runs in second.

09. VVS Laxman (340 runs)

Former India cricketer VVS Laxman scored 340 runs against Australia in 2001. He scored 59 runs in first innings and followed it up with 281 runs in the second.

10. Sourav Ganguly (330 runs)

Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly scored 330 runs against Pakistan in 2007. He smashed 239 runs in the first innings and followed it up with 91 runs in second.
