Star player from Nita Ambani’s Mumbai Indians shares SURPRISING take on Ashes Series

Star player from Nita Ambani's IPL franchise Mumbai Indian make a bold statement on the Ashes selection.

England star player Will Jacks praised leaders Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum for their efforts and courage to make the team stronger and more fearless, so players feel they can compete with anyone.

However, Will Jacks has only played two Test matches for England, during the 2022 Pakistan tour, and took six wickets. He has now been surprisingly selected again for this year’s five-match Ashes series in Australia. Along with batting, Jacks will also help with spin bowling with off-spinner Shoaib Bashir.

Jack was selected for the Ashes series ahead of players like Rehan Ahmed, Liam Dawson, and Jack Leach. This means he got the chance to play while these other players were not chosen.

‘The leadership group make you feel like you can take anyone on. For someone who comes into the team making your debut, that builds you up quickly and makes you feel like you belong there straight away. He (Stokes) leads with his own actions, which makes him really easy to follow. He would never ask you do something he’s not willing to do,” he said.

Star England player Will Jacks took only five wickets in 74.1 overs in first-class cricket this year. However, he plays more in shorter-format games. He will miss the upcoming important series against New Zealand due to a finger injury while playing against South Africa earlier this month.

Baz (McCullum) called me, had a casual chat then just dropped it in, and it took me completely by surprise – definitely brightened up my morning. I’m happy to play whatever role the team needs. That’s what I have been doing in the white-ball team. It was great to be involved with the Test side and how Stokes led the team. So I am looking forward to being a part of it again,” he added.
