‘Unfortunate to see assumptions…’: Rashid Khan clears air on rumours about his 2nd marriage

A number of rumours are floating over Afghanistan star leg-spinner Rashid Khan being married once again. Now the 27-year-old has opened up about his relationship status, as photos and videos have been making rounds on social media where the Afghani star can be seen along with a woman in traditional attire.

Rashid Khan notably got married for the first time in 2024 in Kabul. It is worth noting that along with him, three of his brothers- Amir Khalil, Zakiullah, and Raza Khan- also tied their knots on the same night. Now, amid the floating rumours, Rashid has himself clarified that the woman with him is indeed his wife – confirming his marriage.

Rashid Khan went on his social media account Instagram confirming his second marriage. “On August 2nd 2025, I began a new and meaningful chapter of my life, I had my nikkah done and married a woman who embodies the love, peace and partnership I always hoped for. I recently took my wife to a charity event and it’s unfortunate to see assumptions being made from something so simple. The truth is straightforward, she is my wife and we stand together with nothing to hide. To everyone who has shown kindness, support and understanding, thank you,” Rashid wrote in a post on Instagram.

Speaking about Rashid Khan, he is the leading wicket-taker in T20I format, with 182 wickets to his name in 108 matches at an average of 13.69 and two fifers. He recently led Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2025, but his team failed to qualify for the semi-finals.
