On this day, in 2015, India and Pakistan faced each other for the sixth time in the World Cup. Once again, it was India who had the last laugh.
It was the Day Two of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 and this was the most anticipated match. It was all set to be the most watched cricket match ever and Adelaide was the venue this time. Historically, Pakistan have help an upper hand in Indo-Pak contests but in World Cups it was a different story. Prior to this, Pakistan had lost all their five World Cup games to India and once again their arch-rivals started favourites.
Prior to this game, during the build-up, the broadcasters had flooded their media space with the ‘mauka mauka’ ads, which gained an unmatched virality. Mauka means chance in Hindi and Urdu, and this was Pakistan’s, to upset their neighbours.
On this day, in 2015, India and Pakistan faced each other for the sixth time in the World Cup. India won the toss and elected to bat. Virat Kohli produced another special century (107) at his beloved Adelaide Oval and was well supported by Shikhar Dhawan (73) and Suresh Raina (74). India looked set for a total well in excess of 300 but Sohail Khan pulled it back with a fifer. SEE: ICC World Cup Cricket 2015: India vs Pakistan, Pool B match at Adelaide in caricatures
India posted 300, which in the end was 76 too many for Pakistan. With the ball, the wrecker-in-chief was Mohammed Shami. The Bengal seamer claimed figures of 4 for 35 as Pakistan were bowled out for 224. READ: 10 hilarious tweets from India vs Pakistan World Cup cricket 2015

The intensity hits the roof in Indo-Pak clashes and you never know if they were indeed mocking their neighbours, ‘mauka mauka’. India’s campaign ended in semi-final, while Pakistan’s was at quarter-final. Ironically, both the teams were knocked out by Australia who went on to be the World Champions.
