It has been reported that ahead of the ODI series against Australia, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are going to give Yo-Yo Test, with KL Rahul being called to do so as well.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will have to undergo fitness tests before the ODI series against Australia in October. Apart from Kohli and Rohit, KL Rahul will also undergo this test. BCCI is going to take Yo-Yo test of all these players.
According to a report by Rev Sports, this test will be conducted on 30-31 August at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Rohit and KL Rahul will give the Yo-Yo test on 30-31. The date for Virat Kohli’s fitness test has not been decided yet. It is believed that Virat Kohli may come to India from London to play the Yo-Yo test in September.
Yo-yo test is a process to check fitness in which players have to run between two markers placed at a distance of 20 meters. A beeping sound signals the players to run. The players have to run towards the second marker with the first beep, while they have to return to their place before the second beep. The benchmark Yo-Yo test score for the Indian team has been set at 16.1 (speed).
