Watching Barcelona’s football games taught Kuldeep Yadav to be patient? Here’s what the star spinner said…

Since Kuldeep Yadav was himself benched throughout India’s tour of England for the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy, he believes that watching world famous players sitting out of the matches in top tier football games help lessen his own disappointment that comes with exclusion.

“If you follow other sports, you get to know how it feels when a team is performing really well. You see the bench strength of their (Barcelona) team. They have some unbelievable bench strength and some of them, they are not getting enough game time — like 20 minutes, 15 minutes, but they are such good players,” Kuldeep said.

Even though Kuldeep Yadav was benched for the entireity of the England Test tour, he has performed impressively in the Asia Cup 2025, where he has picked 7 wickets in 2 matches so far. He even spoke about working mostly on his bowling as compared to batting for him being the specialist bowler in the team and not a bowling allrounder.
