Rishabh Pant is expected to miss the Asia Cup 2025 as he recovers from a fractured toe — an injury that may take considerable time to heal fully. The 27-year-old sustained the injury during the fourth Test against England and was subsequently ruled out of the fifth Test as well.

Initial reports suggested Rishabh Pant would need around six weeks to recover from the toe injury. However, a new report from the Times of India now Claims that he is likely to miss both the Asia Cup and the two-match Test series against West Indies due to the close scheduling. The Asia Cup will be held from September 9 to 28, followed by the West Indies Tests starting on October 2.

With Rishabh Pant sidelined, Dhruv Jurel is expected to continue as India’s wicketkeeper in the upcoming West Indies series. Jurel stepped in for the fifth Test after Pant was rule out. While Pant’s absence will be a significant blow for India, especially given his recent form, Jurel still has big shoes to fill in terms of consistency and impact.

Rishabh Pant was in outstanding form during the Test series against England, scoring two centuries and three half-centuries before getting injured. Remarkably, after fracturing his toe, the 27-year-old returned the next day to play a gritty knock of 54. He ended the series with an impressive 479 runs from just seven innings.
