The pitch is dry and devoid of grass which is ideal for batsmen and spin bowlers. As the wicket is flatter recently, the conditions are excellent for batting and average scores of 300+ are common in Test matches. The task in hand for swing bowlers is pretty hard. It is tough to get bounce due to the absence of grass. The spin bowlers can be a great asset to the team in Test matches.

The stadium has two ends namely the Hotel End and Pavilion End. The distance from the center of the pitch to the boundary is about 76 meters both onside and offside, 82 meters on the Pavilion end side, and 82 meters on the Hotel end side and the outfield has horizontal stripes and more or less fast.
