Abul Hassan had been picked for Bangladesh in 2012 and made his T20I debut in Ireland that year. Subsequently he was a part of the side at the ICC World T20 in Sri Lanka. However, Abul made the headlines when he smashed 113 on Test debut while batting against West Indies in 2012. What made that feat astonishing was the fact that he was batting at No 10. He thus became the third number-ten batsman to achieve the feat on debut, though he was picked in the side as a bowler.
A right-arm medium-pacer, Abul has not made an impact with the ball in international cricket, and has had little to show at the highest level barring that solitary hundred. He was dropped from the Bangladesh side in early 2013.
