An energetic seamer, Amit Bhandari played 2 ODIs over the span of four years. The first came in an Asia Cup 2000 encounter against Pakistan, where he was clobbered by the Pakistanis. His 2 wickets came at the cost of 75. He was dropped, and when he made a comeback in VB Series 2003-04, he took 3 for 31 to help Irfan Pathan rout Zimbabwe for 135.
A medium-pacer, Bhandari rendered yeoman services to Delhi for a decade. His First-Class numbers read 314 wickets at an impressive 26.78. The debut came following two excellent seasons just before the new millennium, in which his 68 wickets came at 24.
Bhandari remained on the fringes of the national side for some time, but could not make it despite several appearances for India A. He was also a capable Under-19 cricketer.
