Manish Pandey was a part of India’s squad for the ICC under-19 World Cup in 2008. However, he rarely made an impact during that event as the Virat Kohli-led side lifted the trophy. He found his calling in the IPL, where he established himself as a batsman to watch out for. During the inaugural season, he was a part of the Mumbai Indians side, but he really made a mark in 2009 when he made became the first Indian to hit an IPL ton, while playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. In 2010, he was named in India’s probables for the ICC World T20.
Though Pandey has been an IPL star, it is quite easy to forget his good domestic record. Since his debut in 2008, he has been a fixture in the Karnataka side. He averages well over 50 and has played crucial roles in their success. He had scored a ton in the final of the 2009-10 season and was amongst the leading run-scorers. Four years down the line, he replicated that form when Karnataka clinched the Ranji, Irani and the Vijay Hazare Trophies.
Though Pandey has a fantastic First-Class record, he has also constantly been a part of India A's limited-overs sides. In 2014, he was named in India's T20 side for a one-off game against the West Indies after some impact performances for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL and CLT20.
