Mominul Haque: Life and Times
Bangladesh vs West Indies, 2nd ODI, Khulna
Bangladesh vs New Zealand, 2nd Test at Mirpur
Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka: 2nd Test at Chittagong
Mominul Haque is a solid left-handed batsman with good technique and sound temperament. He brings in a sense of calm in a side of mavericks that tend to play their strokes from ball one. This feature was evident when he hit two fifties in his debut Test series against Sri Lanka in 2013 and then smashed two tons in two games against New Zealand later in the year.
However, Mominul does play his shots with the air of dependability around him. Short in stature, he relies on timing and has become an important player in the Bangladesh setup. He has risen through the ranks in age group cricket where he played the under-19 World Cup in 2010. Consistent performances saw him make his way to the senior side in late 2012.
