Paras Dogra has been among the top run-scorers in the domestic set-up for Himachal Pradesh for a long time. Sadly, he has not been given the attention he deserves as most of his feats have come in the lower-tier of Indian domestic cricket. Dogra is a skillful middle-order batsman who has shown the temperament to dig his team out of tricky situations on multiple occasions. Dogra has been around for a long time now, but his best performance with the bat in First-Class cricket came in the 2012-13 season when he scored 960 runs at an average of 80, which included five tons.
His impressive show earned him a call-up for a series of unofficial Tests between India A and West Indies. Dogra played just one match and was not able to make any sort of impact. That did not deter Dogra from piling on runs for Himachal Pradesh; in the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy season, Dogra scored his sixth and seventh double centuries in consecutive innings against Tripura and Services, and ended the season with 703 runs at 78.11. With seven double centuries Dogra has equalled at the record for most double centuries in Ranji Trophy.
Dogra has played for Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League, but it was the Gujarat Lions who procured his services for his base price of INR 10 lakh in the IPL 2016 player auction.
