An explosive top-order batsman and an accurate medium-pace bowler, Richie Berrington is an important member of the Scotland side. Born in Pretoria, Berrington moved to Scotland in his earlier days, and was marked out as a special talent in Scotland at an early age.
Berrington played in Under-19 World Cup 2006 without much success. He made his ODI and T20I debuts in 2008, but did not do anything substantial till he smashed a 58-ball hundred against Bangladesh at The Hague in 2012.
His batting career has been plagued with inconsistency, but with his bowling adding another dimension to his cricket, he became one of the regular members of the side. He also scored 101 not out in an ODI against Ireland at Dublin in 2014.
