Their run chase started in sublime fashion with a boundary and a maximum on the first deliveries of the first two overs. The second game will be played in Guwahati, whereas Hyderabad will play host to the series decider. Australia have a lot of unsolved queries when it comes to this format. They have failed to qualify for the semi-finals of ICC World T20I since the fourth edition, never attained the No. 1 rank and lost the last series to India. In 2016, India whitewashed Australia on their home soil. Hence, visitors will be wary of the opposition’s strengths.

The last T20I between India and Australia, played in India, was during the WT20I 2016. The match was held in Mohali wherein India defeated Australia by 6 wickets to progress to the knockouts. It will be interesting to see Australia’s approach in the series opener in Dhoni’s hometown, Ranchi.
