For Ireland, a few of their batters got off to starts but none went on to make it significant. Three batters managed to cross the 30-run mark, Harry Tector went onto score a fifty but they needed him to score a bg one. The others really struggled. Apart from the three, no other batter managed to cross the 20-run mark and Ireland will be disappointed especially after electing to bat.

Bangladesh will be pretty pleased with their effort with the ball, especially after being asked to field. It was the seamers who started the good work by picking early wickets but it Taijul Islam was the star with the ball. Whenever a partnership was building, he always provided a wicket. He received good support by the others too. Overall, it is a really good performance by the hosts.

... DAY 1, SESSION 3 ...

A good session for Bangladesh but they have a lot to improve. They took three wickets but they were too wayward in the first hour, the seamers mostly which resulted in for runs but once the spinners came in, they got three wickets in three overs and got Bangladesh right back in this game. Ireland though bossed courtesy of Tector and Curtis Campher as both stitched a stand of 74 with Tector scoring a fifty but both fell in quick succession. Ireland were in pressure but Tucker and McBrine have shown some promising signs and Ireland will hope these two blossoms for a long time. Interestingly, Shakib yet again didn't bowl in this session. Will we see him in the final session? We will find out soon.

...Day 1, Session 2...

A good session then for the hosts! They were asked to field after Ireland won the toss but head with their noses ahead into the break. They struck early courtesy Shoriful Islam, Ebadot Hossain then did not take long to make an impact. Andy Balbirnie and Harry Tector then tried to steady things and were looking good but Taijul Islam struck. Curtis Campher and Tector though ensured there were no more wickets to fall before the break. The two now need to apply themselves and put up a good stand. Bangladesh on the other hand, will want to continue the good work. The element of surprise in the first session was that Shakib did not come onto bowl but we might just see him soon with the ball in hand. A tricky second session awaits for the visitors. Can they come out on top then? We will find out.

It was the middle and the lower order which came to the fore for the hosts! They lost their top three early but Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim put up a brilliant side to turn the tide towards them. Shakib fell but Rahim continued. Along with Das, he took his side into the lead. Rahim got to his ton but Das missed out on a half ton. Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehidy Hasan then paired up to forge another partnership. However, the last session saw wickets fall quickly for the home side. Mehidy Hasan though added a few handy runs with the tail to push that lead over the 150-run mark.

Ireland will be pretty pleased with the work they have put in, in this session so far. They needed to pick up wickets very quickly and Andy McBrine has stepped up for them. He was the star for them with the ball with a six-fer and he was well supported by White as the two were bowling in tandom. Despite those efforts though it is Bangladesh who are well, well ahead in the game. They have a lead of 155 and the way this wicket has stated playing, that seems to be a massive advantage.

What a session for Bangladesh! They have scored more than 130 at a quick rate and trail now by just 44 runs. The hosts lost Mominul Haque early on but once Shakib Al Hasan came in and changed the complexion of the game. He just started to hit boundaries regularly and in no time raced away to his fifty. Rahim too followed him with his fifty. Ireland on the other hand had the start they wanted but as the game progressed, they had to chase the ball more often than before. If it continues the same way, Ireland will be giving away a huge lead. They have to try and take wickets in the next session quickly. A huge session coming up for Ireland. Stay tuned.

Hello to the action of Day 2 between Ireland and Bangladesh. Day 1 was pretty eventful with 12 wickets falling altogether. Ireland showed promising signs with the bat but didn’t live to the expectations as few batters got a start but failed to capitalise on it. Taijul Islam was the star with the ball as he picked a five-fer. In reply, Bangladesh had to bat for a small passage but lost both the openers. Now the hosts will look to build a stand and hope to not lose any wickets in the first session. Stay tuned for more updates.

Ireland will be pretty pleased with the 10 overs they have bowled after being bowled out! They have got two important wickets and have kept themselves well and truly into the game. Mark Adair got one early and then it was Andy Balbirnie who got one right towards the end of the day. Bangladesh though will still feel they are ahead in the game courtesy the work done by their bowlers earlier on in the day. Now though, they need a partnership, they do bat deep so they would hope a few of their batters can put up a good score. Ireland on the other hand, need to keep picking wickets.
