Hobart Hurricanes won by 86 runs | Hobart Hurricanes Vs Northern Knights T20 Match 9 Group B
More...
With this massive victory, Hobart have zoomed to the top Group A.
Hilfenhaus: 'It was a good win. It was very well set up by Blizzard and Malik. It gave us bowlers a pretty good chance. I was hit everywhere the other day. That is cricket. It is always nice to get it out of the way and avoid being tapped around at the end (when asked about bowling out)'
Hilfenhaus is the MoM.
Paine: 'I am extremely happy. I can't fault our bowling effort. We fielded really well. Aiden and Malik batted well after a disastrous start. The two guys played superbly. We were probably looking at 140-150. Myself and Dunky struggled. We will have to improve in that area. They had done really well. We wanted to take early wickets and put them under pressure. We have guys to bowl well at the death too.'
Flynn: 'It was obviously disappointing. We knew T20 can be like that, but we did not react well with the bat. We put 200 on the board in the last game. We were never really in the game here after losing early wickets. Like I said, it did not come off tonight. You obviously take a few lessons out of it. They deserve all the credit. We have another big game coming up in two days. We are looking forward to that.'
Brilliant all-round effort from Hobart. After the late blitz from Malik and Blizzard, the bowlers made early inroads and continued in the same vein to bring the high-flying Knights to earth. Williamson and Devcich perished inside three overs. From there on, it was a procession. The story could have been even more embarassing if not for Styris' resistance. Apart from Styris, only Southee managed to move into double figures. The Hobart bowlers, who shared the spoils, were superbly backed up by the fielders.
