Australia beat New Zealand by 116 runs
Man of the Match: David Warner

Australia

Batting R B 4s 6s SR
David Warnerc Kane Williamson b Colin de Grandhomme 119 115 14 1 103.48
36.1
de Grandhomme to D Warner, OUT! Sharp catch by Williamson! The move to persist with de Grandhomme works and it's his maiden ODI scalp too. Full and outside off, Warner goes for the booming drive but cannot quite keep the shot down. It travels quickly to cover where the New Zealand captain takes a very good low catch moving to his right. They check to see if it's a clean catch and it indeed is. Ends a supreme effort by the southpaw opener and he has to go back. A solid 145-run stand has been broken but the platform has been set for Australia.
Aaron Finchb Mitchell Santner 19 34 2 0 55.88
12.2
M Santner to A Finch, OUT! Finch is put out of his misery by Santner! A low full toss on the leg stump, Finch gets far too forward and across looking to sweep it. Totally misses the ball and is bowled round his legs. That was a pre-determined shot in which he went in too early and that probably cost him his wicket. Finch was looking rusty and the drop catch did not make much of a difference.
Steven Smith (C)c Mitchell Santner b Tim Southee 72 76 6 1 94.74
39.1
Tim Southee to S Smith, OUT! SMITH HOLES OUT! Length ball outside off, he goes for the lofted shot but miscues it high towards sweeper cover. Santner stationed near the ropes takes an easy catch. The bowling change works and this is an important wicket for the Kiwis at this point. Can they make further inroads and restrict Australia?
Travis Headc Colin Munro b Tim Southee 57 32 6 2 178.13
45.6
Tim Southee to T Head, OUT! GONE! Southee has the last laugh but I wonder if he will laugh as the damage has been done already. Full and wide outside off, Head looks to squeeze it away but finds Munro at backward point to perfection. Blistering knock from Head comes to an end.
Mitchell Marshnot out 76 40 2 7 190
Matthew Wade (W)b Trent Boult 11 5 1 1 220
48.5
T Boult to M Wade, OUT! Got him! Full and around off, Wade looks to heave across the line but misses it as the ball disturbs the timber. 'You miss and I hit' stuff but no real celebration from the Kiwis. With 357 already on the board, how can they?

Batting R B 4s 6s SR
Martin Guptillc Matthew Wade b Pat Cummins 45 33 7 1 136.36
8.3
Pat Cummins to M Guptill, OUT! WHAT-A-BALL! Guptill, the biggest threat has to depart. Cummins bowls it outside off, comes in with the angle. Guptill looks to play it with a straight bat from his crease but the ball moves away late and he only manages to get an outside edge. Wade is not going to drop those.
Tom Lathamc & b Josh Hazlewood 4 12 0 0 33.33
5.4
J Hazlewood to Tom Latham, OUT! JOSH STRIKES! A goodish length delivery pitched onto the stumps got Latham thinking and he just pushes the ball towards the bowler for a simple catch. Latham has to take the long walk back to the dressing room.
Kane Williamson (C)c David Warner b Pat Cummins 81 80 5 2 101.25
39.1
Pat Cummins to K Williamson, OUT! Cummins gets the Kiwi skipper! Short and wide outside off, Williamson looks to go over covers but fails to keep this one down as Warner standing at covers takes a nice leaping catch over his head. That should be the final nail in the coffin. 147 needed from 65 balls.
Jimmy Neeshamc Mitchell Starc b Josh Hazlewood 74 83 7 1 89.16
30.6
J Hazlewood to J Neesham, OUT! Gone. Hazlewood strikes at the right time for his side! Neesham has thrown his wicket away again. Length delivery on off, Neesham tries to slog it across the line but could only miscue it towards mid off. Mitchell Starc stationed there takes a simple catch but in a weird manner. Just when the partnership started to look threatening, Australia have broken it. Still a good stand of 125 runs for New Zealand, it has kept them somewhere in the hunt.
Colin Munroc Mitchell Marsh b James Faulkner 11 12 1 1 91.67
33.3
J Faulkner to C Munro, OUT! James Faulkner gets his first wicket! A length delivery is served on off, Munro tries to hit this one down the ground but doesn't have enough fire behind the stroke. The ball goes aerially towards long on where Mitchell Marsh gets underneath it and takes a well-judged reverse cup catch. He can't do anything wrong today.
Colin de Grandhommec Matthew Wade b Mitchell Starc 12 14 0 1 85.71
38.4
M Starc to de Grandhomme, OUT! De Grandhomme has to depart. The Kiwis are now finding it really difficult to chase this down. Starc bowls a really quick delivery outside off which is overpitched, Grandhomme goes with the shot and outside edges it towards the keeper who takes a good diving catch to his right.
Mitchell Santnerb Mitchell Starc 2 5 0 0 40
40.5
M Starc to M Santner, OUT! WOAH! That's what you call an inswinging yorker. That was bowled really quick by Starc and the pace was not judged well by Santner who went for a wild swing at it. He finds his wickets rattled as a result.
Bradley Watling (W)c David Warner b James Faulkner 17 22 2 0 77.27
47.2
J Faulkner to B Watling, OUT! That's all over for the Kiwis! AUSTRALIA WIN BY A MASSIVE 116 RUNS AND TAKE THE SERIES 2-0! James Faulkner keeps it full on the stumps, Watling gets down on one knee to slog it across the line but gets a top edge towards covers. Warner moves back, judges the ball well and then settles underneath it. And the customary handshakes follows.
Tim Southeec George Bailey b Pat Cummins 2 4 0 0 50
41.5
Pat Cummins to Tim Southee, OUT! Another one bites the dust! Pat Cummins hits the deck hard on middle, Southee looks to pull this across the line but his one hand comes off the bat and as a result miscues it towards the leg side. Bailey from mid-wicket moves swiftly towards mid on and takes a safe catch and as always, George has a smile on his face. Australia just 2 wickets away from sealing the series.
Matt Henryc James Faulkner b Pat Cummins 7 13 0 0 53.85
45.1
Pat Cummins to M Henry, OUT! Pat gets the better of Matt this time! Starc in the previous over tries his best to do that, but Cummins removes him on the very first ball of this over. Good length delivery on middle, Henry goes for the pull but has no power in it. Faulkner at deep mid-wicket takes a good catch moving to his left. END IS NIGH FOR THE KIWIS!
