Chappell-Hadlee Trophy, 2016 Full Schedule: All Matches Date and Time Table with Ground Details

The Chappell-Hadlee Series 2016-17 for three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) between Australia and New Zealand will be played between December 4-9. The series will begin on Sunday, December 4 at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), and the second ODI will be played at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on December 6. The third and final ODI of the series will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on December 9.

This three-match series is sandwiched between Australia’s Test series against South Africa and Pakistan. Interestingly, New Zealand are also coming off a series against Pakistan, albeit a two-Test affair which they convincingly won 2-0. New Zealand will be high on confidence having rediscovered some form after away defeats to India, but all eyes will be on how the Australian team will be performing in this series.

New Zealand, who have had a busy season so far starting from their tours to Zimbabwe, South Africa and India, will not be playing any tour match for this series. The Kiwis will also be without some of their key players in Ross Taylor, Mitchell McClenaghan, Adam Milne, Corey Anderson and even Ish Sodhi.

Despite not having some of the key players in their ranks, New Zealand will draw some confidence from the fact that they have been able to turn the tide against Australia. The Kiwis have registered series wins over Australia in the last two meetings in 2014-15 and 2015-16, after having lost a few on the trot to their opponents.

On the other hand, Australia will be full-strength with their lead pacers Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood declared confirmed participants in the series. The Australians, who also happen to being the defending world champions, have been inconsistent in ODIs in the recent past. Australia registered an impressive 4-1 win against Sri Lanka, but suffering heavy embarrassment in South Africa, who handed them out their first-ever 0-5 defeat.
