England players come up to congratulate Daryl Mitchell and everyone gives him a standing ovation. New Zealand are bowled out for 553!

A crucial breakthrough for England and this has been a brilliant little spell from James Anderson!
Kyle Jamiesonc Ben Foakes b Stuart Broad 14 12 3 0 116.67
138.3
Stuart Broad to Kyle Jamieson, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Finally, Broad gets a wicket on his home ground! More importantly, it is another wicket for England and they would be looking to wrap this up quickly now. Broad has been going for his bouncers in this over and he bangs another one, it is around leg. Kyle Jamieson looks to hook it away. However, he gets a glove on it and Ben Foakes behind the stumps takes an easy catch moving to his left.
Tim Southeec Joe Root b Stuart Broad 4 3 1 0 133.33
138.6
Stuart Broad to Tim Southee, OUT! CAUGHT! Back of a length and on leg, Tim Southee looks to block it awkwardly but fumbles and the ball hits the top part of his bat. Matt Henryc Zak Crawley b Jack Leach 0 1 0 0 0
139.3
Jack Leach to Matt Henry, OUT! CAUGHT! England get their ninth wicket and they have done well in this final session to keep New Zealand's score under control. Leach bowls that off stump line but it is not that fuller in length to drive off the front foot. However, Henry goes for it and does it aerially. He ends up hitting it straight to Zak Crawley at covers. He takes the catch comfortably and looks like New Zealand batters no longer want to hang in there and are going for everything now.

41.4
Matt Henry to Alex Lees, OUT! CAUGHT! Fuller and outside off, Alex Lees looks to drive it but gets an outside edge and straight towards the fielder at slips. Huge disappointment for Alex Lees as he walks away at 67.
Zak Crawleyc Tom Blundell b Trent Boult 4 6 1 0 66.67
1.6
Trent Boult to Zak Crawley, OUT! CAUGHT! An early strike for New Zealand. Boult with a lovely delivery that lands on a good length and around off. It bounce sharply too and kisses the shoulder of Zak Crawley's blade as he looks to defend. The ball goes back to Tom Blundell behind the stumps and he takes an easy catch. Another failure for Zak Crawley but must say this was a ripper of a delivery by Boult!
Ollie Popec Matt Henry b Trent Boult 145 239 13 3 60.67
83.1
Trent Boult to Ollie Pope, OUT! CAUGHT! So a wicket off just the seventh ball after Tea!  A brilliant innings from Pope comes to an end, a very special knock indeed. He was given the opportunity be the new management to bat a number 3 and he has justified his position here with a classy innings. He is disappointed with that shot but walks out with a standing ovation. This is a short delivery by Boult on middle. Pope goes for the hook shot. However, he gets a huge top edge towards fine leg and Henry at the deep runs forward a bit and takes a fine catch. New Zealand finally have a breakthrough and they would be looking to make the most of this new ball now. Jonny Bairstow is the next man in.
Joe Rootc Tim Southee b Trent Boult 176 211 26 1 83.41
119.3
Trent Boult to Joe Root, OUT! CAUGHT! Trent Boult strikes and end of a brilliant knock by Joe Root! A much-needed wicket for New Zealand, England were moving at a rapid rate this morning. Boult delivers a full ball which is slower in pace on off. Root drives but is a tad early because of the lack of the pace of the ball. It goes bit uppishly towards Southee at short covers and he takes a fine low catch. Root is disappointed but he has played another magnificent innings and walks off to a standing ovation.
Jonny Bairstowc Tom Blundell b Trent Boult 8 11 2 0 72.73
85.3
Trent Boult to Jonny Bairstow, OUT! CAUGHT! Oh, that's a beauty from Trent Boult. On middle and back of a length angling it in, Jonny Bairstow looks to defend it but has probably missed it completely. However, the New Zealand players think otherwise and there is a loud appeal for a caught behind but the finger stays down. New Zealand go for a review and UltraEdge shows that the ball had hit his glove. Jonny Bairstow has to walk back and New Zealand get two wickets in quick succession..
Ben Stokes (C)c Trent Boult b Michael Bracewell 46 33 6 2 139.39
94.5
Michael Bracewell to Ben Stokes, OUT! CAUGHT! Ben Stokes departs! His quickfire cameo comes to an end. However, this was always going to be a risky option sweeping against the off spin of Michael Bracewell. He got away with it couple of balls back but this time has to pay the price. This is tossed up on off. Stokes goes for a big slog-sweep but ends up getting a huge top edge. The ball goes in the air towards deep mid-wicket and Trent Boult running forward and to his right takes a good catch. The lead for New Zealand is still 148!
Ben Foakes (W)run out (Henry Nicholls / Michael Bracewell) 56 104 10 0 53.85
124.3
Michael Bracewell to Matthew Potts, OUT! RUN OUT! A miscommunication and Matthew Potts has his head in his hands, as New Zealand see the back of Ben Foakes. It is fuller and on off. Potts stays back and tucks it to mid-wicket. Ben Foakes comes a long way down the track looking for a single but was sent back. Henry Nicholls throws it sharply to the bowler who clips the bails to send back a set-batter in Foakes.
Stuart Broadc Daryl Mitchell b Michael Bracewell 9 13 2 0 69.23
122.4
Michael Bracewell to Stuart Broad, OUT! CAUGHT! What a brilliant catch by Daryl Mitchell. It is flighted and full, outside off. Stuart Broad hangs back and throws his blade at it. The ball takes the outside edge and goes to the right of first slip. Daryl Mitchell makes a full stretched dive to his right and takes a stunning one-handed catch. England lose another wicket in the morning.
Matthew Pottsb Trent Boult 3 8 0 0 37.5
125.2
Trent Boult to Matthew Potts, OUT! BOWLED! An inswinging yorker from Boult has proved to be too difficult for Matthew Potts to handle. This is on middle and swinging in right in the blockhole. Matthew Potts looks to work it away but ends up missing it completely and watches his leg stump being dismantled. Trent Boult has been outstanding in this test match and gets his 10th five-wicket haul in Test cricket. He has bowled his heart out on this pretty good batting deck and deserves this five-wicket haul.
Jack Leachnot out 0 9 0 0 0
James Andersonst Tom Blundell b Michael Bracewell 9 11 2 0 81.82
128.2
Michael Bracewell to James Anderson, OUT! STUMPED! Tom Blundell with quick hands behind the wickets and England's innings comes to an end. It is tossed up, around middle. James Anderson moves to the leg side as the ball turns down leg, although he is unable to get his shot away. He is out of the crease because of the charge and Tom Blundell makes no mistake behind the sticks.

Tom Latham (C)b James Anderson 4 5 1 0 80
0.5
James Anderson to Tom Latham, OUT! TIMBER! James Anderson draws the first blood. Just the start England were looking for. This one lands on a length, touch outside off. Tom Latham misjudges the line of the delivery and shoulders his arms, as he thinks this would leave him. Although, this one jags back in to disturb the stumps. 650th Test wicket for James Anderson! What a champion he is!
Will Youngrun out (Ollie Pope / Ben Stokes) 56 113 8 0 49.56
42.2
Ben Stokes to Will Young, OUT! RUN OUT! A mix up in the middle and New Zealand are in a spot of bother now as they lose Will Young now. It is a length ball, on midde. Young tucks it to mid-wicket. Daryl Mitchell wants a single and he is out of his crease. Will Young is a tad late into his charge, which allows Ollie Pope to set himself up and throw it to Ben Stokes at the non-striker's end, who collects the ball and is quick to take the bails off. Even a desperate dive could not save Young here.
Devon Conwayc Jonny Bairstow b Jack Leach 52 109 8 0 47.71
33.4
Jack Leach to Devon Conway, OUT! CAUGHT! Ohh...a wicket against the run of play this, Conway was looking so good out there in the middle. However, he has to walk back now and Leach provides a crucial breakthrough. This is fuller on middle. Conway goes for a sweep shot this time after a reverse-sweep in the previous delivery. He, however, gets a top edge and the ball goes in the air towards deep square leg. Jonny Bairstow there moves forward and takes a fine low catch diving forward.
Henry Nichollsc Alex Lees b Matthew Potts 3 18 0 0 16.67
37.6
Matthew Potts to Henry Nicholls, OUT! CAUGHT! Henry Nicholls perishes early and the floodgates are truly opened up now for England to capitalize on. Henry Nicholls provides the easiest of catches to backward point. It is a short and wide delievery outside off, Henry Nicholls could have seen it sail past him but fell into the trap. He goes for an expensive shot and finds Alex Lees who takes a sharp catch. Trent Bridge errupts.
Daryl Mitchellnot out 62 131 4 1 47.33
Tom Blundell (W)c Ben Stokes b Stuart Broad 24 53 4 0 45.28
60.2
Stuart Broad to Tom Blundell, OUT! CAUGHT! England have broken this dreaded partnership! Short ball angled towards the shoulder of Tom Blundell. He could have let that one be but instead chooses to pull it. Does not get a good connection and ball goes aerially towards backward square leg where Ben Stokes takes a fine catch. He immediately points his finger towards the dressing room after taking that catch and the England coach Brendon McCullum gives a thumbs up to his skipper. Big wicket for England, Broad provides a crucial breakthrough!
Michael Bracewellc Stuart Broad b Matthew Potts 25 17 4 1 147.06
64.4
Matthew Potts to Michael Bracewell, OUT! CAUGHT! Michael Bracewell's entertaining cameo has come to an end! He has however brought New Zealand to a position of considerable safety! Not all that full in line with the stumps, Michael Bracewell gets in no position to drive the ball straight. He lofts it and finds Stuart Broad at mid on who takes a comfortable catch. England rejoice out of relief to see the back of Michael Bracewell as he walks out to a standing ovation.
Tim Southeerun out (Zak Crawley / Ben Foakes) 0 1 0 0 0
65.5
Stuart Broad to Daryl Mitchell, OUT! RUN OUT! Tim Southee gets run out for a duck. Another one bites the dust for New Zealand. This does not look good at all. Poor communication by Daryl Mitchell. A length ball, around off. Daryl Mitchell guides it through backward point and runs hard for the first runs. He calls for the second, but as soon as he sees the ball decides against it, although it was a bit too late for Southee to get back. Zak Crawley throws it at the keeper and Ben Foakes completes the business.
Matt Henryc Ben Foakes b Stuart Broad 18 46 4 0 39.13
77.5
Stuart Broad to Matt Henry, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! The resilience of Matt Henry is over. Stuart Broad digs it in short again, around middle and off. Henry spots that there is no fielder in the deep on the leg side and decides to take on the short delivery. Attempts to pull but only manages to edge it to Ben Foakes. England have got the breakthrough they were looking for and it has come with the second new ball not too far away. Lead for the Kiwis is 259.
Kyle Jamiesonc Ben Foakes b Stuart Broad 1 6 0 0 16.67
79.2
Stuart Broad to Kyle Jamieson, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Broad has another wicket and he has bounced out the tall man. It's short and well-directed at the batter, at 83 mph, Jamieson hangs across on the back foot and attempts to pull. He fails to connect properly though and gets a top edge behind to the keeper. Foakes grabs a brilliant catch despite getting a bit wrong-footed and New Zealand lose their ninth wicket.
Trent Boultc Ben Stokes b James Anderson 17 15 3 0 113.33
84.4
James Anderson to Trent Boult, OUT! CAUGHT! The entertainment is over! Back of a length, around middle, Trent Boult steps back and throws his bat at it. Trent Boult to Joe Root, OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! New Zealand have gone bang, bang after Lunch and the crowd has gone silent. The man in form is out of here. Boult speeds in and serves a length ball in the line of the stumps. It perhaps holds up a bit after landing as Root is early into his attempt to work it on the leg side. He gets a leading edge back towards the bowler and Boult needs no second invitation to catch it. He dives forward to complete a brilliant take and roars in delight. Root shakes his head on his way back to the pavilion.
