India vs Sri Lanka 2017 Full Schedule: All Matches Date and Time Table with Ground Details

India and Sri Lanka play more against each other than any other sides. However, when the sides squared up in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, it was their first ODI in over two-and-half years. The re-building Sri Lanka surprised the cricket fraternity by beating the strong Indians in the Champions Trophy clash. Sri Lanka are a strong side at home and last year, around the same time they went on to humble Australia 3-0. It was only in 2015 when India played a Test series in Sri Lanka and managed to come out triumphant 2-1.

The series began with a defeat at Galle thanks to heroics from Dinesh Chandimal and RanganaHerath but the Indians came back strong in the next 2 Tests at Colombo to spoil Kumar Sangakkara’s farewell party. India are the No.1-ranked Test side and would like to continue their supremacy. Despite whitewashing the Australians last year, Sri Lanka suffered a major jolt after losing a Test to Bangladesh at home earlier this year. India begin their full tour of Sri Lanka with a Test series starting at Galle.

The second and third Test will be held at Kandy and SSC, Colombo from August 3 and August 12 respectively. India haven’t played a Test at this venue but in the 3 Tests that they have played at the city of Kandy, they have won 1 and drawn 2. The first Test begins on July 26.

The Test series will be followed by a 5-ODI series. The first match, on August 20, will be played at Dambulla, where they have won 19 of their 41 ODIs. The teams then move to Kandy for the second and third ODI, and then to R Premdasa in Colombo for the fourth and fifth ODIs. The teams then stay at Premadasa for the one-off T20I.

Both the teams are entering this tour post competitive outings against relatively weaker oppositions. India faced West Indies in the Caribbean while Sri Lanka had a series at home against Zimbabwe.
