It is raining in Bangalore and the hosts will be hoping that the match is not washed out completely. Do stay tuned for all the updates. For now, cheers and bye..
Azhar Mahmood: 'I knew I was closing in on 200 wickets, nice to get it over here. The first 3-4 batsmen get most time in T20 matches, I am happy that my coach and the captain had belief in me. In the last match, I bowled length balls and got smacked for 2 sixes, hence, I went back to the basics. My family have supported me all along and this MoM award is for my two children. We will miss Gilchrist dearly, both as a captain and as a team man.'
Azhar Mahmood is the MoM
Gilchrist: 'Harbhajan took my wicket many many times, I just wanted to take his once and enjoy the feeling. The team played superbly as a unit, many thanks to the crowd. They do not get a lot of matches to watch, but they supported us well. It was a 50-50 tournament for us, we need to go away and think about fixing those issues. I will reflect on my career, it has been an emotional moment for me. I will sit back and enjoy all the future action from the team. I have some special memories of playing in the T20 tournament. Special moments: Going back to the 2nd edition, my knock in the semis for Hyderabad against Delhi and my double century stand over here with Shaun Marsh against Bangalore in 2012.'
Rohit Sharma: 'We had an off-day, but it is very disappointing, we gave away too many runs. 184 was chaseable, we needed to keep wickets in hand. We kept loosing wickets and there was no way of coming back. The plan was to see 4-5 overs off when the ball swung under the lights. Malinga has been amazing for us, 100 wickets is outstanding. We will go to Delhi tomorrow, we need to regroup as early as possible. We will look to take the positives from this match.'
Scenes that are reminiscent when India won the 2011 WC. Then, Sachin was carried on the shoulders of his teammates. It is now the turn of Gilchrist to be carried along by his junior brigade.
Chawla says that the team will miss their skipper. He was surprised to see Gilly taking the ball in the final over and is happy that he ended up with a 100% strike rate.
Punjab players take the stumps as part of the souvenier. This has been one superb show by Gilly's boys. And nice to see to see the great man have the last parting shot at glory. Mumbai were never in the chase as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
Dhawal Kulkarni will not come to bat. Punjab have won by 50 runs.
10 wickets down for MUM. Out batsman is Harbhajan Singh. It is all over for MUM. 19.1Adam Gilchrist to Harbhajan Singh. out Caught by Gurkeerat Singh!! Gilchrist has got a wicket, and he is running all across the stadium in celebration. This was tossed up and just outside off, Harbhajan bends his knees and slogs it straight to Gurkeerat at long on. Nice celebrations from the Punjab camp. Gilchrist does his own version of the Bhagnam dance as he gives a send off to Harbhajan. Harbhajan c Gurkeerat Singh b Gilchrist 5(8)
Adam Gilchrist, right-arm off break, comes into the attack
Ah! Gilchrist will bowl the last over. Nice way to say good bye to the tournament. Praveen Kumar will keep

18.2Azhar Mahmood to Nathan Coulter-Nile. out Bowled!! The perfect yorker from Azhar Mahmood, too good for Coulter-Nile. 200th wicket in T20 cricket for Azhar Mahmood. This was full and tails back in sharply, Coulter-Nile was looking to drive, misses it completely and the off pole goes for a walk. Coulter-Nile b Azhar Mahmood 9(6) [6s-1]
