That is all from us here. Join us for the important match between Mumbai and Hyderabad from Mumbai. Bye Bye!
So, for the second time, Watson has hurt Chennai big time. When he scored a century at Chennai, Rajasthan suffered a demoralizing loss. However, with this knock of 70 today, he has managed to put one over Chennai.
Watson: 'It was a slow start and the run-rate started going up. I took a risk and it worked. It would be great to have a few nights like this. Michael Hussey is a nice guy. We knew 140 was a decent chase on this wicket. This deck helped the faster bowlers and Binny helped me tremendously as we went after Ashwin. We knew that they were going to bowl spin at some point and it would be easier to play spinners on this deck.'
Shane Watson is the MoM for his blazing 70.
Dravid: 'It was a wicket where we had to back-end the batting. We knew that they had spinners which we would target. We did not bat well at the start. We were lucky to have Watson and Binny batted well. It was an amazing 4-5 over spell. Watson is that kind of player. MS Dhoni should not feel bad as he has done it in the past. This is a fantastic wicket. Hussey and Vijay batted well but we pulled things back. 20 points is also not probably enough and we have to play good cricket away. To win eight here and see the crowd response is great. The support has been awesome and to play for the last three years at this place hard and straight been memorable.'
Dhoni: 'We bowled well in the first 10 overs. However, Watson batted well. We started off well but we could not capitalize. The only positive from this match is that the lower middle order got a chance to bat. Our main worry was the fifth bowler. Once Watson set in and Binny started batting well, they went after the spinners. 140 was a good score and it would have been nice if we had played with five seamers. We needed a bit extra from the fast bowlers. This track was great to play on as it was good for both batsman and bowlers.'
This pitch had a lot of help for the bowlers in the first six overs. Holder and Mohit Sharma troubled the top order with accurate seam bowling. Dravid held firm as wickets tumbled at the other end. When he departed with the score reading 45/4, it seemed that Rajasthan would succumb to a heavy defeat. However, Watson and Binny engaged in some ferocious hitting that changed the course of the match. Both these batsmen latched onto Ashwin as they slammed him for 23 runs. From that point in time, the Chennai bowlers lost their lengths as Watson tore into the attack. The 93 run partnership between Watson and Binny gobbled up only 45 balls and it has sealed a fantastic win for Rajasthan.
The Rajasthan players are out on a victory lap at the ground. This has been the perfect home campaign for Rajasthan and the crowd are jubilant.
Stuart Binny: 'I was striking the ball well and I backed myself on this wicket. The ball was doing something at the start but we had to hang in there. The ball was coming onto the bat nicely as the game progressed. We were trying to experiment with the batting. Watson and I have finished off games in the past and we have to continue to win more.'
Important Stat: This is the first time that Chennai have lost a match this season while batting first. Rajasthan have never lost a match at this venue this season while chasing.
Important Stat: Rajasthan have defeated Chennai for the first time in this tournament after three years. On March 28th 2010, Rajasthan had defeated Chennai in Ahmedabad by 17 runs.
Important Stat: Rajasthan are the first team this season to have a perfect home record. They have won all eight out of their eight home games.
