Mumbai have jumped to the 6th spot, Bangalore have some work to do ahead of their home match against Punjab. A double header is coming up tomorrow, do join us for all the action. For now, cheers and bye..
Rohit: 'By far, the best match for us in the tournament. We probably did everything right today. Batted well, bowled and fielded superbly, this is what the franchise is all about. It wasn't all that easy, with the dew, we bowled really well. Pawan got back after that 28-run over, he took the big wicket of Kohli. I have always tried my best, it was important to get some runs. We will keep our heads up, we need to be positive, we will take each game as it comes. The next match against Chennai will be very important, we need to win that as well.'
Rohit Sharma is the MoM
Kohli: 'I thought the target was gettable. We could have made smarter decisions. It was a dream of a start from Parthiv and Gayle. We couldn't capitalize though. Every team is playing hard. These sort of things happen. We have to move on. We were short by 19 runs. I think we could have got over the line if we had applied ourselves better. Now, we have to win at least 5 out of 7. We have hope, we have the guys, who can win us matches single-handedly.'
Bangalore will reflect upon the their profligacy with the ball, they conceded a whopping 25 runs in extras, and the 19th over bowled by Aaron went for 24 runs. Mumbai were solid with the ball, they kept fighting hard even as Bangalore threatened to take the match away. Parthiv, Gayle, Kohli and Rossouw, all got starts but none of them ended up with a big score. This is Mumbai's 10th straight win here, and Bangalore have now slipped to their 4th loss in their last 5 matches.
