That's it from this game. Hop tabs for all the action from the match between PUN and KOL. Take care!
Duminy: 'It's unbelievable. What a game of cricket. It's a truly blessed evening. We were in a position to get more, but we always thought that 160 was defendable. There were two left-handers and that's why I decided to share the new ball. You are never out of the game in this format. We always knew that we needed to take wickets. Long may this winning streak continue.'
JP Duminy is the Man of the Match
Earlier, enterprising knocks from Shreyas Iyer and Duminy took Delhi to a good total. In fact, Duminy turned out to be the star performer for the visitors as he also took four wickets and plucked catches. The Delhi camp certainly would be happy with winning two matches in a row.
Despite Karn Sharma and Ashish Reddy playing with a touch of fearlessness, Hyderabad sloped towards a gut-wrenching defeat. It was Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner, who drilled crunching strokes to give the hosts a rousing start. However, JP Duminy prised out both of them in a single over to scuttle the efforts of the home team. Ravi Bopara and KL Rahul looked to rebuild the innings. Once Rahul lost his wicket, Bopara continued to play shots. Ashish and Karn then took them closer to a famous win. But in the end, they lost a thriller by four runs. A brilliant save by Mayank Agarwal in the final over at sweeper cover certainly helped Delhi's cause.
End of over 20 ( 5 Runs )HYD 168/8 19.6Nathan Coulter-Nile to Karn Sharma. out Caught by Mathews!! Second successive win for the Delhi and Duminy has a big smile on his face. Full and on the stumps, Sharma couldn't get under it, he tries to hit a maximum, but no timing on it, long-off runs forward and takes an easy catch. What an over from Coulter-Nile. HYD needed 10 runs off 6 balls and he conceded just 5. Karn Sharma c Mathews b Coulter-Nile 19(10) [6s-2]
19.5Nathan Coulter-Nile to Karn Sharma. 2 runs, has he hit that all the way? Oh that's a brilliant bit of fielding at sweeper cover from Mayank Agarwal. Full and outside off stump, Sharma slices the lofted hit, Agarwal jumps, realises that he would cross over if he lands and pushes the ball back just in time to save four runs. I think this could be the turning point
19.4Nathan Coulter-Nile to Praveen Kumar. 1 run, full and outside off stump, PK reaches out for the drive but hits it to the left of the bowler
This a top over, just 2 singles and a wicket off the first three balls. Need 8 off 3 balls.
19.3Nathan Coulter-Nile to Karn Sharma. 1 run, can't get under it. Yorker outside off stump, Sharma can only mistimes the drive to long-off
Praveen Kumar, right handed bat, comes to the crease
19.2Nathan Coulter-Nile to Ashish Reddy. out Ashish Reddy Run Out!! Excellent ball and it's got DEL a wicket in the form a run-out. Reddy backs away early, Coulter-Nile fires a yorker wide outside off stump, Reddy couldn't reach out to the ball and missed. Karn Sharma wants the strike but Reddy was late to take off. The keeper throws the ball back to Coulter-Nile, who runs back and breaks the stumps. Ashish Reddy run out (K Jadhav/Coulter-Nile) 15(8) [4s-1 6s-1]
19.1Nathan Coulter-Nile to Karn Sharma. 1 run, yorker length delivery on the leg stump, Sharma backs away and squeezes it out, it goes straight to short third man, on seeing Reddy charge for the run, Joseph tries to fire a throw, but he releases it badly and almost lands next to him
Nathan Coulter-Nile [3.0-0-21-0] is back into the attack
Third man and fine leg are up
The equation is now down to 10 runs needed off 6 balls. Mathews started the over well, but couldn't finish it off nicely.
End of over 19 ( 13 Runs )HYD 163/6 18.6Angelo Mathews to Ashish Reddy. 2 runs, full from Mathews, Reddy drills it hard, Mathews gets his right hand as he tries to stop the ball in his followthrough and that meant the ball rolled slowly to mid-on. The fielder in deep did not attack quickly and they get two runs
18.5Angelo Mathews to Ashish Reddy. SIX, wow! That's a handsome hit. He's picked the slower ball and nailed it way back over deep mid-wicket for a 93-metre hit. Mathews tries to take pace off the ball again, but it's in the slot, Reddy waits, clears the left leg and slogs it away
18.4Angelo Mathews to Ashish Reddy. no run, Reddy is not happy with himself. Slower delivery just outside off stump, Reddy steps out and misses the slog, the ball almost shaves the off stump. Crucial dot ball!
Mid-off has gone back now
