36.5
Haris Rauf to Zak Crawley, OUT! TIMBER! Pakistan get their second in quick time and it is Haris Rauf who strikes this time. Two of the debutants have dismissed both England openers and there will be two new batters at the crease now. This is bowled on a good length and on off, this one nips back in sharply. Zak Crawley looks to drive it but the ball goes in the gap between his pads and the bat to knock the stumps over. Pakistan are back in the game and they will hope to carry on with this momentum. Both the England openers are back in the hut after reaching their centuries!
Ben Duckettlbw b Zahid Mahmood 107 110 15 0 97.27
35.4
Zahid Mahmood to Ben Duckett, OUT! LBW! Pakistan finally have a breakthrough in the game and the massive opening partnership has been broken! Zahid Mahmood gets a wicket on his debut and he is ecstatic. He floats this full and gets it to pitch on an off stump line. Ben Duckett attempts the reverse sweep but does not connect and the ball hits his chest as he stumbles over after the shot. There is a massive appeal from the players around the bat but the umpire remains unmoved. Zahid Mahmood looks convinced and Babar Azam indulges by going for the review. There is no bat involved as confirmed by UltraEdge and Ball Tracking shows three reds. The on-field decision has to be reversed and England finally lose their first wicket.
Ollie Pope (W)lbw b Mohammad Ali 108 104 14 0 103.85
70.5
Mohammad Ali to Ollie Pope, OUT! LBW! Pakistan have a wicket against the run of play! Mohammad Ali bowls this on a good length and in line with the stumps. Ollie Pope looks to defend it but misses as the ball hits his pads. A huge appeal but the finger stays down. Pakistan goes for a review after some contemplation. UltraEdge shows no spike and Ball Tracking shows three reds. The umpire has to reverse his decision and Ollie Pope walks back to the pavilion after scoring an excellent century.
Joe Rootlbw b Zahid Mahmood 23 31 3 0 74.19
45.6
Zahid Mahmood to Joe Root, OUT! PLUMB! That looks straight and Pakistan have the big wicket of Joe Root! Zahid Mahmood has given away 100 runs but has taken two very important wickets in this game so far! Flights this one full and pitches on an off stump line. The ball does not turn and keeps its line to hit Joe Root low on his back leg as he looks to sweep. There is a huge appeal and the umpire lifts his finger instantly. They have reviewed this and UltraEdge confirms there is no bat involved. Ball Tracking shows three reds and England will lose their review. The on-field decision stays and Joe Root has to walk back to the pavilion.
Harry Brookc Saud Shakeel b Naseem Shah 153 116 19 5 131.9
83.4
Naseem Shah to Harry Brook, OUT! CAUGHT! Harry Brook's enterprising inning comes to an end as he perishes looking to continue his onslaught! Naseem Shah bowls this back of a length and into the batter, Harry Brook goes for the pull shot once again but does not connect this one cleanly. He finds Saud Shakeel at deep square leg who takes another comfortable catch. England have lost their seventh wicket but their intentions are pretty clear this morning.
Ben Stokes (C)b Naseem Shah 41 18 6 2 227.78
75.6
Naseem Shah to Ben Stokes, OUT! TIMBER! Pakistan have an early breakthrough on Day 2 and the skipper of England has to depart! A slower ball does the trick for Naseem Shah. He bowls it on a good length and on middle, looks like an off-cutter. Ben Stokes looks to make room towards the leg side and cut the ball away but gets beaten by the pace. The ball pegs the middle stump back and Stokes walks out for 41 in just 18 balls. Naseem Shah looks pumped as he celebrates and gives the batter a send-off. Just the start Pakistan were looking for and they will have their tail up now.
Liam Livingstonec Saud Shakeel b Naseem Shah 9 10 0 1 90
81.1
Naseem Shah to Liam Livingstone, OUT! TAKEN! Pakistan have started this day with positive intent. Bowls it fuller and on leg, Liam Livingstone moves forward to flick it but doesn't connect well. The ball carries at deep square leg. Saud Shakeel settles under it and pouches it around his head. England lose their sixth wicket! Liam Livingstone will be kicking himself as he would have not got a better pitch to make his debut on. Pakistan are clawing themselves back into this game.
Will Jacksc Naseem Shah b Mohammad Ali 30 29 4 0 103.45
95.2
Mohammad Ali to Will Jacks, OUT! TAKEN! Will Jacks's cameo comes to an end! On a length and on off, Will Jacks looks to heave it but mistimes it completely. The ball carries towards short mid-wicket where Naseem Shah takes it comfortably around his head. Mohammad Ali has been rewarded for his effort and England have lost their eighth wicket! It is pretty evident here that they are not looking to play out overs and are aiming to score maximum runs.
Ollie Robinsonlbw b Zahid Mahmood 37 51 3 1 72.55
98.2
Zahid Mahmood to Ollie Robinson, OUT! LBW! Zahid Mahmood gets his third and Ollie Robinson will have to depart! This is tossed up on middle and leg, Ollie Robinson looks to reverse sweep it but misses and the ball hits his pads. The finger goes up immediately. Ollie Robinson goes upstairs. Ultra Edge shows no spike and Ball Tracking shows that it was just clipping the leg pole. Ollie Robinson has to walk out as the umpire's call stands!
Jack Leachnot out 6 18 0 0 33.33
James Andersonc Imam-ul-Haq b Zahid Mahmood 6 10 1 0 60
100.6
Zahid Mahmood to James Anderson, OUT! CAUGHT! Zahid Mahmood brings an end to the England inning with his fourth wicket! He flights this one full and outside the off stump, James Anderson looks to drag the ball towards the leg side and goes for the sweep shot. The ball takes the top edge of his bat and goes high towards the square leg region. Imam-ul-Haq runs to his right from backward square leg and takes an easy catch. England have posted a huge total on the board and Pakistan will now have to bat long to save this Test match.

Abdullah Shafiquec Ollie Pope b Will Jacks 114 203 13 3 56.16
65.4
Will Jacks to Abdullah Shafique, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Stop the press, England finally manage to find the opening wicket. The move to get Will Jacks on works. HE GETS HIS FIRST TEST WICKET! Not the best of balls. It is short and wide outside off. Abdullah Shafique looks to cut but he tries to play it really late. It goes off the outside edge and it is taken by the keeper. Pope just about takes it. A good catch in the end as it was a thick edge. A superb knock from Abdullah Shafique but he had a chance to make a daddy ton here.
Imam-ul-Haqc Ollie Robinson b Jack Leach 121 207 15 2 58.45
70.1
Jack Leach to Imam-ul-Haq, OUT! TAKEN! Both the openers are now back and Leach has his first! Imam-ul-Haq continues to be aggressive against Leach. Steps out but gets too close to the pitch of the ball. He lofts it down the ground but hits it quite flat. It goes towards long on where it is taken by Ollie Robinson! Pakistan still a long way away, England will sense an opening here. They still lead by over 400.
Azhar Alilbw b Jack Leach 27 48 5 0 56.25
80.5
Jack Leach to Azhar Ali, THE FINGER IS RAISED! Azhar Ali has been given out LBW but he reviews. Seems no bat but is it going down leg or is it clipping the leg pole? OUT! None of the two mentioned above, IT IS HITTING THE LEG POLE! THREE REDS! The second new ball has done the trick and England have their third in the session. This is a big wicket. Leach bowls it quicker and slightly shorter on middle, Azhar Ali goes back to flick but since, the ball is new, it skids through. Ali is late in getting his bat down and is hit on the pads. An appeal and the finger goes up. Can England take another one before Lunch? Pakistan still trail by over 350.
Babar Azam (C)c Jack Leach b Will Jacks 136 168 19 1 80.95
126.1
Will Jacks to Babar Azam, OUT! BABAR AZAM GOES! End of a fine innings from the Pakistani skipper. Azam walks back in disappointment. Will Jacks is happy and so are England. He serves a shorter ball, outside off, there is turn and extra bounce. Azam goes back to cut but gets an outside edge to point. Jack Leach takes it safely. Babar Azam will feel he has given away his wicket. Was batting so nicely. Missed out on his 150.
Saud Shakeelc Ollie Pope b Ollie Robinson 37 94 3 0 39.36
113.4
Ollie Robinson to Saud Shakeel, OUT! EDGED AND GONE! England break the stand! Finally! The Tea break works for England! Ollie Robinson continues to angle it across, outside off. Shakeel is drawn forward to drive but he gets an outside edge to Ollie Pope who makes no mistake. The 123-run stand is broken. England have an opening and they need to build on this.
Mohammad Rizwan (W)c Ben Stokes b James Anderson 29 44 5 0 65.91
127.5
James Anderson to Mohammad Rizwan, OUT! TAKEN! Pakistan lose their sixth wicket and this time it is of Rizwan's. James Anderson's change of angle does work in the end. He serves it from 'round the wicket, touch fuller and on middle. Rizwan flicks n the up and straight in the hands of Ben Stokes who takes a sharp catch at short mid-wicket. England are in ecstasy. They can feel they can bundle out Pakistan till the end of the day.
Agha Salmanc Zak Crawley b Will Jacks 53 67 7 1 79.1
147.4
Will Jacks to Agha Salman, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! The last recognized batter for Pakistan falls shortly after getting to his half ton! Jacks has his fourth. Really well bowled. This lands on off and then goes on with the angle. Agha Salman stays back and looks to defend but this goes off the outside edge and Root at first slip takes a sharp catch. A good little innings from Salman but he needed to continue. England still lead by over 100. Can England now make quick work of the remaining wickets?
Naseem Shahc Jack Leach b Will Jacks 15 21 1 1 71.43
133.5
Will Jacks to Naseem Shah, OUT! TAKEN! What a catch from Leach! Naseem Shah was tempted there as he sees a flighted delivery, full and on middle. Shah tries to loft but toe ends it high and to mid on. Now, a fielder runs back from mid on but Jack Leach from deep shouts and slides to take the catch. That was brilliant. England have done well in this final session.
Zahid Mahmoodst Ollie Pope b Will Jacks 17 48 2 1 35.42
153.5
Will Jacks to Zahid Mahmood, OUT! STUMPED! Probably the right call in the end! Zahid Mahmood did not look like having anything behind the line. Time to celebrate for Will Jacks as he gets a FIFER ON DEBUT! The long resistance of Zahid Mahmood comes to an end! He tries to innovate. Brings out the reverse sweep but this is fired outside off. He misses. Pope whips the bails off and appeals. It is taken upstairs. Ultra Edge shows no bat. Time to check the stumping. The umpire saw a few replays and then decided the foot was on the line. Pakistan 9 down and still behind by 81 runs.
Haris Raufc Joe Root b Will Jacks 12 32 0 0 37.5
155.3
Will Jacks to Haris Rauf, OUT! TAKEN! Six-fer for Will Jacks! Another good catch by Root! Rauf steps out, Jacks tosses it up outside off. Rauf swings, this goes off the outside edge and Root takes it at first slip. Pakistan have been bowled out for 579!

Zak Crawleyc Mohammad Rizwan b Mohammad Ali 50 48 7 0 104.17
13.5
Mohammad Ali to Zak Crawley, A LOUD APPEAL FOR CAUGHT BUT TURNED DOWN! Rizwan wants it to be reviewed and it is. Crawley indicates it has hit his shoulder. OUT! There is a spike on Ultra Edge as it passes the glove and the on-field call has to be overturned! Not sure why Crawley was rubbing his shoulder as that was nowhere near the shoulder. He falls shortly after getting to his half ton. Down the leg side, short. Crawley looks to pull, this seems to have taken the glove and Rizwan takes it. A successful review from Pakistan and a much-needed wicket as this stand was taking the game away from them.
Ben Duckettc Agha Salman b Naseem Shah 0 1 0 0 0
0.2
Naseem Shah to Ben Duckett, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Pakistan strike on the second ball! A ton for Ben Duckett in the first innings and a duck in the second. Not a shot he will be proud of. He could have left that alone. This is on a length and outside off, Duckett goes after it, this goes off the outside edge to second slip and it is taken Agha Salman. That is the perfect start for the hosts.
Ollie Pope (W)c Naseem Shah b Mohammad Ali 15 13 2 0 115.38
5.1
Mohammad Ali to Ollie Pope, OUT! TAKEN! Pope has been bounced out and Pakistan have another one. England are effectively 114 for 2. A short one and on middle, Pope goes for the pull, he fails to get on top of the bounce, it goes off the top edge towards fine leg and it is taken easily by Shah. Another centurion from the first innings walks back for a low score. Can Pakistan get another one before the break?
Joe Rootc Imam-ul-Haq b Zahid Mahmood 73 69 6 0 105.8
28.1
Zahid Mahmood to Joe Root, OUT! TAKEN! The crowd finds its voice now! Something for them to be happy about as it was all England in this session. On the pads, Root looks to sweep but fails to get on top of the bounce. It goes off the top edge and Imam-ul-Haq takes an easy catch at short fine leg. A good innings from Root comes to an end. England effectively 270 for 4.
Harry Brookb Naseem Shah 87 65 11 3 133.85
35.5
Naseem Shah to Harry Brook, OUT! TIMBER! No consecutive tons for Brook but yet another wonderful innings from him and a debut to remember. Maybe he could have played his way to his ton but that shot just shows, it is team first for him. On middle, he looks to heave it across the line but misses it altogether. The stumps are shattered. Brook walks back and so do the umpires and the players as THAT IS TEA ON DAY 4!
Ben Stokes (C)c Saud Shakeel b Zahid Mahmood 0 3 0 0 0
28.4
Zahid Mahmood to Ben Stokes, OUT! TAKEN! Really not sure what Stokes was trying to do there! It all looked ugly in the end! This is slower and it lands around off and it is turning back in. Stokes looks to hit it through covers. The length and line was not the right one to play that shot. This takes the top edge as Stokes fails to get on top of the bounce and lobs upto cover where Saud takes it. Two in quick succession for Zahid and Pakistan.
Will Jacksc Imam-ul-Haq b Agha Salman 24 13 1 3 184.62

Agha Salman to Will Jacks, OUT! TAKEN! Jack's entertaining innings comes to an end! This is tossed up around off, Jacks steps out and swings, it goes off the top edge and it is taken by the fielder at cover.

Abdullah Shafiquec Harry Brook b Ollie Robinson 6 14 1 0 42.86
4.1
Ollie Robinson to Abdullah Shafique, OUT! TAKEN! Abdullah Shafique holes out! The plan to bowl short has worked. Early wicket for England. Just what they needed! This is banged in short and on middle, Abdullah Shafique can't hold back, he goes for the pull, fails to get on top of the bounce and it goes off the top edge towards deep square leg. Harry Brook at deep square leg takes it nicely.
Imam-ul-Haqc Ollie Pope b James Anderson 48 77 8 0 62.34
25.3
James Anderson to Imam-ul-Haq, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Imam-ul-Haq goes and England have found the breakthrough. The 64-run stand is broken. Imam could have left this alone. James Anderson slants a length ball, going down the leg side. Imam tries to flick it but gets a faint edge to Ollie Pope who dives to his right and takes a fine catch. First, it looked like it came off the pads but Imam-ul-Haq showed his back immediately and started walking off. He goes for fine 48.
Azhar Alic Joe Root b Ollie Robinson 40 81 4 0 49.38
82.1
Ollie Robinson to Azhar Ali, OUT! TAKEN! Straight to the leg slip fielder! Ollie Robinson is on fire, he has two in two overs and England can sense a win now. The last recognized batter, Azhar Ali is out of here and England are just the three wickets away. This is on the pads, Ali flicks but to the man at leg slip. Root takes an excellent low catch. Yet again the reverse swing doing the job, the ploy not to take the second new ball is working. This is going to be really tough for the bowling all-rounders now.
Babar Azam (C)c Ollie Pope b Ben Stokes 4 5 1 0 80
5.3
Ben Stokes to Babar Azam, OUT! TAKEN! The finger is raised! Pin-drop silence in this stadium as Babar Azam has been dismissed by the England skiper, Ben Stokes. The short ball ploy works yet again. England well and truly on top now! This is short and on middle, Babar Azam looks to guide it down to third man. There is not enough room to do that. He actually tried making a little bit of room by moving to his the right. This goes off the toe-end and it is taken inches above the ground by the keeper. Two out of the three centurions from the first innings for Pakistan are back in the hut. Do Pakistan have another hero in them?
Saud Shakeelc sub Keaton Jennings b Ollie Robinson 76 159 12 0 47.8
61.2
Ollie Robinson to Saud Shakeel, OUT! TAKEN! That is a lovely catch! Ollie Robinson comes on and strikes. Stokes can do no wrong with his bowling changes here and England now on top. They are just the one wicket away from entering the bowlers now. Saud Shakeel who looked solid out there falls. England are delighted. This is fuller and outside off, quite wide outside off. Shakeel could have left it but it is the length that makes him play the stroke. It is just behind a driving length. Shakeel stretches for it, it goes uppishly and to the right of a very short cover. Keaton Jennings, the sub, dives to his right and takes it brilliantly. England now 5 wickets away.
Mohammad Rizwan (W)c Ollie Pope b James Anderson 46 92 6 2 50
55.1
James Anderson to Mohammad Rizwan, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Anderson gets another one! This guy is an absolute legend, irrespective on the conditions, just manages to find the breakthroughs for his side. It is the big wicket of Mohammad Rizwan who just did not look like getting out. He falls four short of a half ton and England now back on top. This is on a length, it lands and moves away. Rizwan has a poke at it away from the body. He also plays it with an angled bat. It goes off the outside edge and it goes into the hands of the keeper. He maybe could have left that delivery but that is how Rizwan plays, he likes feeling bat on ball and that proves to be his downfall.
Agha Salmanlbw b Ollie Robinson 30 64 4 0 46.88
80.2
Ollie Robinson to Agha Salman, OUT! LBW! A huge appeal for LBW but nothing from the umpire. ENGLAND REVIEW IT. Desperate times for England. This is the stand they want to break. Pad first clearly. THREE REDS! Agha Salman is out. The 61-run stand is broken and England now are into the bowlers. A big moment in the game. This one is on a length and outside off, it lands and nips back in sharply. Salman stays back and tries to dab to third man with an angled bat but puts his front foot across. The ball pings the pad first. UltraEdge confirms it is pad first. Three reds are shown and England are absolute delight.
Naseem Shahlbw b Jack Leach 6 46 1 0 13.04
96.3
Jack Leach to Naseem Shah, OUT! SHAH HAS BEEN GIVEN LBW! He reviews it! That looked very close. Will come down to the umpire's call we think so. NO BAT INVOLVED! IT IS THREE REDS! WOW! England have done it. The stubborn final wicket is scalped. This is full and on middle, an arm ball. Shah gets on the front foot as he looks to defend but gets beaten on the inside edge and hits on the pads. An appeal for LBW and up goes the finger. Naseem Shah reviews but to no avail as three reds it shows. ENGLAND WIN BY 74 RUNS.
Zahid Mahmoodc Ollie Pope b James Anderson 1 21 0 0 4.76
87.2
James Anderson to Zahid Mahmood, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Absolutely brilliant from Pope! James Anderson continues to serves it short, this is on leg. Mahmood tickles it, it goes more off the gloves and to the eft of the keeper. Ollie Pope puts in a full-length dive, stretches his left hand out and takes a stunner. He does well to keep hold onto it as he lands on the ground. Just superb. James Anderson gets his third wicket. England need two wickets now.
Haris Rauflbw b James Anderson 0 2 0 0 0
87.4
James Anderson to Haris Rauf, OUT! LBW! An appeal for LBW and up goes the finger. Haris Rauf will take it upstairs. No bat there. Is it just sliding down though? Umpire's call it is. England won't mind it. They are nearing to the victory. James Anderson is showing his class all over again. What a champion of a bowler. He serves it on a length and tailing on leg. Rauf misses his flick. It looked like it will go down but the on-field decision is with England and it is enough for them to take the 9th wicket.
