George Workerb Mohammad Hafeez 28 50 2 0 56
14.4
M Hafeez to G Worker, OUT! Bowled 'em! The professor strikes. Bowls this full in line of the stumps, Worker comes down and looks to work this to the on side. He cannot get to the pitch of the ball and misses it. The ball goes and rattles the stumps. Important wicket for the hosts as this partnership was just about to build.
Colin Munroc Mohammad Hafeez b Shaheen Afridi 13 10 1 1 130
1.6
S Afridi to C Munro, OUT! In the air... and Hafeez has taken a superb catch. Excellent technique and that has been brilliantly grabbed. Afridi gets his revenge. He bowls it full and around off, Munro tries to flick it over the leg side but closes the face of the bat a touch early. He gets a leading edge which goes high up in the air and over the head of mid off. Hafeez there runs back, keeps his eyes on the ball, takes it with both hands and then falls onto the ground. Never easy when you're running backwards. Brilliant. Pakistan have struck early and that too a big wicket. The dangerous Munro departs cheaply again.
Kane Williamson (C)run out (Shaheen Afridi) 1 3 0 0 33.33
3.3
S Afridi to G Worker, OUT! RUN OUT! Pakistan have got New Zealand's talisman in a fortunate manner. Williamson can't believe his luck as he walks back with his head down. It is a full delivery on middle, Worker drives it back towards the bowler. He gets down and the ball brushes his hands and deflects onto the stumps at the non-striker's end where Kane is out of his crease, for a walk. The hosts are ecstatic and they are right on top here.
Ross Taylornot out 86 120 3 1 71.67
Tom Latham (W)b Shaheen Afridi 1 7 0 0 14.29
15.6
S Afridi to Tom Latham, OUT! They have managed to break this stand very early! A corker of a yorker to do so and New Zealand are dented further. Shaheen comes steaming in and bowls it right in the block hole on off. Latham fails to bring his bat down in time and the ball hits the off pole. He gets his second and he was the one who ran Williamson out. Having a good time out there is the youngster.
Henry Nichollsb Hasan Ali 33 63 1 0 52.38
37.3
H Ali to H Nicholls, OUT! Bowled 'em! Hasan Ali foxes the batsman with a slower one. He runs in from 'round the wicket and angles in a length delivery in line of the stumps. Nicholls skips down the track and swings his bat across the line. But since it's a slower one, the ball arrives late. Henry is done with his shot way too early and it goes through to meet the middle stump. Pakistan have finally managed to break the 75-run partnership.
Colin de Grandhommec Hasan Ali b Shadab Khan 3 12 0 0 25
40.3
S Khan to de Grandhomme, OUT! Colin de Grandhomme holes out! He flops when New Zealand needed him to fire towards the end overs. Shadab serves a flighted ball on middle, Colin advances down the track and tries to go big over long on. But he fails to get the timing right and Hasan Ali settles underneath near the rope and catches the skier safely.
Tim Southeec Imam-ul-Haq b Shaheen Afridi 13 21 1 0 61.9
46.1
S Afridi to Tim Southee, IN THE AIR... DROPPED... OOPS... OUT! Everyone is laughing. Imam is embarrassed while Afridi wants to laugh but does not want to hurt his teammate. A slower delivery to start, Southee looks to pull but is foxed by it. He mistimes it towards deep square leg where Imam-ul-Haq is a few yards inside the boundary. He has to run back, sticks out his right hand, but then the ball lobs up. Luckily for him, it does not go far and he is able to catch it in the second attempt. Third wicket for Afridi!
Ish Sodhib Shaheen Afridi 13 11 1 1 118.18
48.4
S Afridi to Ish Sodhi, OUT! BOWLED! 4-fer for Afridi. Keeps the basics simple. The line is on the stumps, the length is just a tad short of full. Sodhi looks to slog but misses. Timber.
Trent Boultb Hasan Ali 1 3 0 0 33.33
49.1
H Ali to T Boult, OUT! BOWLED! Perfect yorker. Hasan fires it at the base of the stumps, Boult backs away and looks to hit it through the off side but misses. The ball is too quick for him. Death rattle.

L Ferguson to F Zaman, OUT! Finally a wicket for New Zealand. And finally the short ball works for the Kiwis. Lockie digs it short outside off, Zaman goes for the pull but gets a top edge which balloons towards mid on. Sodhi settles under it and makes no mistake. The 101-run stand ends with Zaman falling for 88. Pakistan need more 55 runs.
Babar Azamc Henry Nicholls b Lockie Ferguson 46 50 5 0 92

L Ferguson to B Azam, OUT! Two in the over from Ferguson. Bangs it short again outside off, Babar looks to upper cut it. He gets decent connection but Henry there, just ahead of the ropes takes a very good catch. Is there a twist? Or is it too late?

L Ferguson to S Malik, OUT! That is an outstanding catch! Boy o boy. Time reversed. History has repeated itself. 2001, Mumbai, Sachin Tendulkar pulled a short ball from Mark Waugh onto Justin Langer at short leg. The ball lobbed off his shoulder and Ricky Ponting at short mid-wicket dived to his right and took a fantastic catch. Now, come back to present. The bowler is Lockie Ferguson. The batsman is Shoaib Malik. The length is again short. The shot is again the pull. Here too, the ball goes to short leg. The fielder here is Henry Nicholls. He too, like Langer, gets hit on the left shoulder. Again, the ball lobs in the air. Now, there is a slight difference. There, Ponting dived to his right. Here, Ish Sodhi came charging in from short mid-wicket and slid across to take the catch. Malik did not want to go but the umpire sends him on his way. Amidst all this, Nicholls is perfectly fine!
Sarfraz Ahmed (C) (W)c Tom Latham b Ish Sodhi 13 17 1 0 76.47
37.2
Ish Sodhi to S Ahmed, OUT! Caught behind! Sodhi manages to get a wicket now. Short and outside off, Sarfraz looks to cut but only manages a thin edge. Nice take by Latham.
