Aiden Markram is the Player of the Match. He says it was nice to win. Adds he loves to bat on top and credits the staff for backing him. Shares he has played a lot of cricket here and is grateful to get some runs on this tough wicket. Reckons the pitch starts slow but opens up as the game progresses.

Temba Bavuma says it feels good to win. Adds it was crazy how it end but they did well to put up a respectable total to defend. Reckons they didn't get much partnership but Aiden Markram batted well and felt 300 runs would have been a good score but in the end 250 proved to be a lot. Shares they will rest well but also prepare well for the next game.

Kraigg Brathwaite says they missed out with the bat, it is not good enough to bat under 100 overs in both innings. Adds some balls were keeping it low, he feels there was lot for the bowlers but could have done better with the bat. Reckons it was a top effort from the bowlers in the second innings and hopes to come better in the next game. Says they have to be more mentally prepared. Applauds the performance of Alzarri Joseph and Kemar Roach in the end.

The start was superb by the home team. Dean Elgar and Aiden Markram laid up a good foundation. It looked like South Africa will score around 400 but the final session of Day 1 saw them crumbling down and losing their foot. Alzarri Joseph ended with a five-fer. It was sort of same for the Windies. Raymon Reifer batted well with a couple of contributions from others but just like hosts, lost it in the final session of Day 2. This time it was Anrich Nortje with a five-fer. The way pitch was playing, it shows how valuable the knock from Aiden Markram was in the second innings. Jermaine Blackwood tried to replicate the same but to no avail.

West Indies had less than 250 to chase this down but were put under serious pressure by some pace bowling of Rabada. No one apart from Jermaine Blackwood turned up for the chase. Joshua Da Silva and Jason Holder showed some intent but lost their wickets and once Blackwood fell, it was over for West Indies. If only there was some contribution from top order. West Indies would have given a tough fight.

South Africa take the lead in the two-match series. The game started to heat up in the third session. We saw most wickets fell on the final session of Day 1 and Day 2. South Africa had a 130-odd runs lead at the end of Day 2 and Aiden Markram was key on both innings. A splendid century in the first innings and a valuable 47 in the second with a key cameo from Gerald Coetzee to put a par score to defend.

A fantastic win by South Africa. This game went full throttle as it progressed. Who thought this match will end so quickly but that's how the pitch was playing. It was a beauty for the bowlers to bowl and South Africa came up on top in each session.

Onto the Windies batters now, that is the area which is a cause of concern for them and they are up against a very potent pace attack and on a wicket which is doing a bit. Will they be up for the challenge or will South Africa dominate with the ball? We will find out.

Windies, at the start on Day 1, struggled with their lines and lengths. They were either too full or too short which let the openers score freely. However, they found their lines and lengths as the game progressed and their bowlers were rewarded. Alzarri Joseph was the pick with a fifer. He bowled with pace and he's the reason for the Windies making a come back in the game.

Except for the first over, West Indies will be pleased with how things went about this morning. They will also be pleased they have kept the hosts to below 350. Let me remind you, at one stage, 400-plus looked on the cards for the hosts. South Africa were 221 for 1 thanks to a ton from Markram and a half ton from Elgar but once the two openers fell, no other batter managed to cross the 30-run mark. It was thanks to the lower-order they got close to the 350-run mark but it is still a competitive score.

From 221/1 to 300/8, West Indies will feel they have done a fantastic job here. The first two sessions were too wayward for them, the runs were flowing easily but it has to be the Alzarri Joseph over where the Windies got two tickets and then there was no stopping. The pitch started to help in the later stages as the other seamers got a wicket as well at least. Alzarri Joseph easily was the best of the lot. West Indies bowled only two maidens and that tells you they are not able to create pressure. Apart from Elgar's wicket, there wasn't much to celebrate. Shannon Gabriel already looks tired. Roston Chase and Alzarri Joseph were decent. West Indies will hope the final session brings some joy and wickets for them. They need the final session to go their way or else Aiden Markram is looking for a very big score here.

South Africa will be really happy with the start. They are in full control right now. The session started with Aiden Markram and Dean Elgar but the former skipper fell just while he was trying to change gears. Windies have bowled decently but in parts! They have been far too many boundary deliveries and they will hope they can tighten things up after the break. They will need to be patient, the wicket is not offering a lot. The key after the break will be to hit the right lines and lengths on consistent basis. Can they fight back after the interval?

That is a top, top session for South Africa! Bavuma will be a happy man so far, he wont the toss, elected to bat and the openers have laid a really good foundation for them to score big. It was testing earlier on where the ball did do a bit. Elgar did get a life but once the ball lost its shine, batting got easy and the two have cashed in. Elgar has crossed his half ton and Markram is looking to get to his. More of the same is what South Africa will want.

The hosts hung in there. They were disciplined throughout and the pitch started to help in the final session which resulted to wickets after wickets. Kagiso Rabada started things while Anrich Nortje kept hunting with his pace from the other end. The speedster took a five-fer while Rabada and Gerald Coetzee took four together. Now then! South Africa have a handy lead. It is a very tough patch to play. Around 12 overs remaining. Can South Africa end without losing any wickets?

A lead of 130 runs for South Africa. That was some turnaround by the home team. A splendid performance by them with the ball and have to say, the final session on both days have been the most entertaining one. 7 wickets fall in this one. Just like South Africa, West Indies fall like a pack of cards. From 169 for 3 to 212 all-out. The second half didn't perform to their potential. At one stage, West Indies were stubborn and looked like will easily cut off the run. Jermaine Blackwood batted decently. Raymon Reifer scored a sensible fifty and there were contributions from couple of others as well but then came the Tea-break and after that it was all South Africa.

We saw on Day 1 how wickets started to tumble over and South Africa will hope for something similar. The pitch does tend to assist the seamers later in the day and the Proteas will have that in mind. Nothing to separate as of now. All eyes on the last session of Day 2 which is coming up soon.

Probably a good session for West Indies! The just lost one wicket. South Africa though have done well to slow down the run rate after the wicket. They are going more with the short balls now. South Africa will be slightly disappointed with the amount of boundary balls they have bvowled but will be happy with the two wickets they have got. Also, there have been encouraging signs as the ball has moved around and the key for them will be to stick to the right lines and lengths. An interesting session awaits.

A good session of Test cricket! Have to say, South Africa are ahead in the game but West Indies will not be very disappointed with how things stand at the moment. First they managed to bowl South Africa out quickly this morning and then have scored freely in their reply. They did lose Kraigg Brathwaite early but Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Raymon Reifer batted well after that. They would have loved to have headed into Lunch one down but they lost Tagenarine Chanderpaul late in the session. Jermaine Blackwood though has looked positive after walking out and the Windies will hope these two can build a good stand.
