    • Right. That ends a close-looking contest. Pakistan were favourites but the Proteas simply messed up a simple run chase from a dominant position. They have got a day to reflect on how to avoid a series loss and come back with renewed vigour for the second game. You too, take some rest now and come back refreshed for the second T20I on Saturday, 13th February, 2021. The game begins at 6 pm local (1300 GMT). But you can also catch the action from the second Bangladesh-West Indies Test match in the meanwhile. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!

    • Victorious Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam does not feel they are lucky to get this win. Plainly says that his bowlers won him the game. Feels that poor batting in the middle overs and poor bowling at the start put them under pressure but feels that Usman Qadir got them back into the game. Reckons that there was some grip for the spinners in both innings but also lauds the way his seamers came back in the last 4 overs. On the sluggish start, Babar reckons that the ball was not coming onto the bat, hence, they were aiming to get partnerships. But then, also admits that the players got carried away with the format and went for playing strokes, which resulted in the fall of wickets. Praises Rizwan for his outstanding knock. Affirms that this win boosts their confidence but does not feel that there was dew around. Feels that it was hazy and visibility was an issue but stresses hat the players did not complain and the fielding was excellent.

    • MOHMMAD RIZWAN HAS BEEN NAMED THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH. On carrying his form from the second Test, Rizwan says that every match is important, irrespective of the format. Admits that Pakistan got off to a poor start and struggled in the first half. Details that he kept asking for plans from the dugout and accordingly went with the same. On him hiting 7 sixes in this game, Rizwan smiles and says that he has heard that he does not hit many sixes but if truth be told, he tries his best to play according to the situation of the game.

    • South African skipper, Heinrich Klaasen, feels disappointed with the result, stressing that batting in the last 4 overs let them down. On trial by spin, Klaasen says that it doesn't help if someone in the opposition bowls 3 overs for 4 runs and picks up 2 wickets, while chasing 170. But admits that they have to find a way about it. On the dew, Heinrich says that on the outside it looks okay but not so, while actually bowling or fielding.

    • A few PCB 2020 awards to be given. Babar Azam gets the Spirit of Cricket award. Pakistan had visited the Bangladesh dressing room during their match last year. Naseem Shah gets the Emerging Cricketer of the year award for 2020.

    • That was not the presentation. It is yet to come. Please stay tuned...

    • Usman Qadir is up for a chat. The leggie says that he just focused on bowling the dot balls and put pressure on the batsmen. Further says that there was dew and he had practiced for that as they managed to arrest the run-rate. On details about the advice from Rizwan, Usman mentions that the keeper told him to just flight the ball and not push it through and that is what he did.

    • Earlier in the evening, Pakistan began slowly but then attacked towards the end, to finish on a competitive 169. Mohammad Rizwan batted till the end, scoring an unbeaten 104. but if truth be told, his strike rate actually pulled the team down. But in the end, it turned out to be enough.

    • Excellent from Pakistan. They should have lost but belief got them the win. Usman Qadir was the one who got the turnaround. His 4-0-21-2 stifled the Saffas, as they simply could not get him away. Mohammad Nawaz was excellent upfront as well, with similar figures but wicketless. The seamers got a tonk but when it mattered in the end, the trio of Afridi, Rauf and Ashraf nailed their yorkers perfectly.

    • South Africa will be crestfallen. They can take the credit of fighting hard, but 170, with dew around, was chaseable. The openers gave a good start, adding 53 under 7 overs but the middle order fell apart. They were inexperienced but Miller and Klaasen are not exactly in that category, are they? 56 was needed in the last 5 overs, with 7 wickets in hand and they surely could have done it. Should have done it. But they just could not find  way of scoring through those middle overs and choked, while at the end, they kept losing wickets.

    • Excellent work from Pakistan. Who says teams cannot defend with dew? The Asian giants have busted that myth. Sensational bowling display, with all that dew but to be honest, they had a pretty inexperienced batting lineup in front of them.

    • End of over 20 ( 15 Runs )RSA 166/6 19.6Faheem Ashraf to Bjorn Fortuin. 2 runs, It is not a boundary and PAKISTAN WIN BY 3 RUNS! Full, almost a yorker, around off, Fortuin gets across, swings hard but can only eke it off the inside half of his bat towards square leg. The fielder gets across and manages to push the ball back into play, as it is about to cross the ropes. 2 runs taken.

    • Babar is right into the ears of Faheem. He will be okay with a four but by no means a six. And of course, no extra balls. Square leg, mid on, mid-wicket, long on, long off and extra cover, at the fence.

    • 19.5Faheem Ashraf to Bjorn Fortuin. FOUR, FOUR! We are not done yet! Full, outside off, Fortuin gets across and laps it to the right of short fine leg!

    • 19.4Faheem Ashraf to Dwaine Pretorius. 1 run, Full toss outside off, but he has botched it. Mistimes it to long off for just a single.

    • 19.3Faheem Ashraf to Dwaine Pretorius. SIX, SIX! Is there still life left? Around middle, Pretorius swings it over wide long on! 11 needed from 3 balls. Possible?

    • 19.2Faheem Ashraf to Bjorn Fortuin. 1 run, Yorker on middle, terrific delivery, dug out to the leg side for just one. 17 needed from 4 balls now.

    • 19.1Faheem Ashraf to Dwaine Pretorius. 1 run, Full and outside off, Pretorius hammers it straight to long off. Just a single.

    • Faheem Ashraf to bowl the final over. 2-0-22-1 so far. He has got 18 to defend.

    • End of over 19 ( 10 Runs )RSA 151/6 150 runs for RSA 18.6Shaheen Afridi to Bjorn Fortuin. 2 runs, Nearly a boundary! Length ball, outside off, Bjorn carves it over cover. Faheem Ashraf races across to his right, gets to the ball from deep point, but then fumbles. Nearly concedes the boundary but manages to stop the ball in the end. Two runs taken.

    • 18.5Shaheen Afridi to Bjorn Fortuin. FOUR, FOUR! Life is harsh. Excellent yorker, around off, Fortuin somehow manages to get his bat down in time. But due to sheer luck, he gets an outside edge, which runs past the keeper, to the left of short third man!

    • 18.4Shaheen Afridi to Bjorn Fortuin. no run, Quick short one. Cannot get hold of that either. Gets across and looks to lap it over short fine leg, but misses.

    • 18.3Shaheen Afridi to Bjorn Fortuin. no run, Lovely bowling. Excellent change of pace, Bjorn swings for the heavens but misses.

    • 18.2Shaheen Afridi to Bjorn Fortuin. FOUR, EDGED, FOUR! A bit of luck. Pacy ball, on a length, outside off, Fortuin swings hard. Gets a thick outside edge but luckily for him, it flies over a leaping short third man into the fence behind.

    • 18.1Shaheen Afridi to Bjorn Fortuin. no run, A yorker, outside off, Fortuin swings but misses.

    • The physio is out in the middle now. While taking the second, Fortuin slipped and seems to have twisted his ankle.

    • End of over 18 ( 8 Runs )RSA 141/6 17.6Haris Rauf to Dwaine Pretorius. 2 runs, Around middle, punched wide of long on for a couple. Oh dear. Has Fortuin done his calf or hamstring? 4-0-44-2 for Rauf tonight. Expensive but an excellent final over.

    • Bjorn Fortuin walks in next.

    • 17.5Haris Rauf to Andile Phehlukwayo. out, OUT! CAUGHT IN THE DEEP! A length ball, in the slot, Phehlukwayo flicks this uppishly, but it is straight down the throat of Haider Ali at deep mid-wicket. Good leaping catch at the ropes. What an over this is turning out to be. 6 runs and 2 wickets so far.

    • 17.4Haris Rauf to Dwaine Pretorius. 1 run, DROPPED! Tough chance. Properly put, Rauf is lucky. Another slower ball, around off, Dwaine backs away and bludgeons it. Haris barely has time to react. The ball is coming at his face and luckily, hits his left shoulder and goes to mid off. A single is taken. The physio is ready to come out but Rauf sends him back.

    • 17.3Haris Rauf to Dwaine Pretorius. FOUR, FOUR! No time to get your eye in. Full and outside off, slower one, Pretorius goes big over mid off and nearly clears the ropes!

    • Dwaine Pretorious walks in now.

    • 5 wickets down for RSA. Out batsman is Reeza Hendricks 17.2Haris Rauf to Reeza Hendricks. out, OUT! Hendricks is run out! Wrong question. Gone? Isn't it? Should have been asked by us in the insert. Confusion, confusion and the set man is in delusion. He is gone now. Waste of a wicket. A short ball, outside off, Reeza looks to pull but gets a thick inside edge onto his pads. He does not know where the ball is and sets off for a single. Phehlukwayo responds but then Hendricks goes back. Now, he sees Andile come so he starts running again. But now, because Hendricks went back, Andile stops. In the meanwhile, Rizwan comes up to the ball, dives and then disturbs the stumps. Reeza dives but the appeal is referred upstairs. The first replay shows that he is gone by a yard.

    • Gone? Is it? A run out appeal has been referred upstairs. Gone big time, is Hendricks.

    • 17.1Haris Rauf to Andile Phehlukwayo. 1 run, Slower ball, around middle, Phehlukwayo backs away, looks to punch, but mistimes it back to the bowler. However, Rauf fumbles and allows the single.

    • Rizwan and Babar in a chat. Who will bowl the 18th? 3 overs left. Rauf and Afridi have 1, while Ashraf has 2. Babar goes with Rauf. 3-0-36-1 so far.

    • End of over 17 ( 11 Runs )RSA 133/4 16.6Shaheen Afridi to Reeza Hendricks. no run, Outside off, on a length, Reeza looks to push it through the off side but misses.

    • 16.5Shaheen Afridi to Reeza Hendricks. FOUR, FOUR! Gets it away this time! Yorker attempted by Afridi, but it turns out to be a low full toss. Hendricks gets well across his off stump and laps it over short fine leg. 37 more needed from 19 balls.

    • 16.4Shaheen Afridi to Reeza Hendricks. no run, Gets across, looks to ramp it over short fine but toe-ends it back to the bowler.

    • 16.3Shaheen Afridi to Andile Phehlukwayo. 1 run, On middle and leg, worked through mid-wicket for a single.

    • 16.2Shaheen Afridi to Andile Phehlukwayo. SIX, SIX! Clean as a whistle! After a perfect yorker first ball, Afridi dishes in a rank half volley around off. Phehlukwayo gets under it and sends it sailing straight back, into the sightscreen. Moves to 12 from  balls, in a stand of 13 from 6 deliveries.

    • Afridi will be looking to nail those yorkers.

    • 16.1Shaheen Afridi to Andile Phehlukwayo. no run, Yorker, outside off, Phehlukwayo looks to dig it out but misses.

    • End of over 16 ( 8 Runs )RSA 122/4 15.6Haris Rauf to Andile Phehlukwayo. 1 run, On off, tucked to square leg for a single.

    • 15.5Haris Rauf to Andile Phehlukwayo. FOUR, EDGY FOUR! Short of good length around middle, Phehlukwayo loks to tap it ot the  off side but the ball goes takes the inside edge and runs past the leg pole for a boundary at fine leg. A welcome hit to the fence.

    • 50 runs for Reeza Hendricks 15.4Haris Rauf to Reeza Hendricks. 1 run, Full and around middle, clipped towards mid-wicket for a single. 50-up for Hendricks. He has played a good knock so far and needs to continue.

Luckily for the batsman, it is wide of cover, to his right. Mid off mops it up, moving to his left. A single taken.

    • 2.3Mohammad Nawaz to Janneman Malan. 1 run, Full, around middle, Malan walks down the track and flicks it through mid-wicket for a single.

    • 2.2Mohammad Nawaz to Janneman Malan. no run, Yorker length, outside off, squeezed straight to point.

    • 1.5Haris Rauf to Reeza Hendricks. FOUR, FOUR! SPANKED! Short ball, barely at waist height, Hendricks picks the length in a trice and pulls it over mid-wicket. Off the mark in style. That was 141.4 kph but the deck is slow.

    • A halt in play. Aleem Dar is having some problem with his vision as his spectacles are steaming up.

    • 0.5Mohammad Nawaz to Janneman Malan. 1 run, NOT OUT! Bat detected. Full and around middle, Malan looked to work it to the leg side but missed. The ball hit the back pad and lobbed over Rizwan, who started to scream vociferously. Aleem Dar had a look, then shook his head. The ball rolled towards third man and the batsmen took a single. Meanwhile, Pakistan got into a huddle, with Babar asking his keeper, bowler and a couple of other players. The DRS timer is ticking by but Babar signals the 'T' at the last moment. UltraEdge detects a spike as the ball goes past the outer half of the bat. Unlucky for Pakistan. That looked stone dead.

    • 0.2Mohammad Nawaz to Janneman Malan. no run, Quicker ball, around off, Malan stays back to defend.

    • 0.1Mohammad Nawaz to Janneman Malan. no run, Fuller, outside off, driven straight to cover.
