WI win by 7 wickets | India Vs West Indies 2nd Semi-Final match

    • Lendl Simmons is the Man of the Match. India's hero, Virat Kohli is nowhere to be seen.

    • But it was a masterstroke by West Indies to get Lendl Simmons in — a man who knows Wankhede quite well. He plays for Mumbai Indians, this is his home ground. And he shows his expertise now, and how! And he proved it bloody right. His 83 not out off 51 shattered Virat Kohli's arduous 47-ball 89 not out.

    • What more could Virat Kohli have done for his team? He gave in everything to help his team fill in the gaps. With the bat, always, and today with the ball. Unfortunately the flat deck at Wankhede proved too much for India.

    • 19.4Virat Kohli to Andre Russell. SIX, SIX! A full toss from Virat Kohli, India's best man in the ICC World T20 2016, and he stands in the middle of the ground SHATTERED. West Indies are into the final, they are having wild celebrations out there in the middle

    • 19.3Virat Kohli to Andre Russell. FOUR, on the leg side, a mighty whack getting an edge and West Indies stun the Wankhede

    • 19.2Virat Kohli to Andre Russell. no run, hit on the leg as he tries to whack it. A RARE dot! Need 7 off 4

    • 19.1Virat Kohli to Lendl Simmons. 1 run, single to midwicket. Two was always possible

    • End of over 19 ( 12 Runs )WI 183/3 30 runs for Andre Russell 18.6Ravindra Jadeja to Andre Russell. FOUR, towards deep cover. West Indies strolling to a win here. Need 8 off 6

    • 18.5Ravindra Jadeja to Andre Russell. SIX, out of Wankhede? No inside. Another massive hit by Russell. It hit the press box and remained stuck there for sometime. Brutal from the West Indians

    • 18.4Ravindra Jadeja to Andre Russell. no run, dot, straight to the bowler.

    • 18.3Ravindra Jadeja to Lendl Simmons. 1 run, towards mid off, need 18 off 9

    • 18.2Ravindra Jadeja to Andre Russell. 1 run, towards long on

    • 18.1Ravindra Jadeja to Andre Russell. no run, misses outside off. Need 20 off 11

    • End of over 18 ( 12 Runs )WI 171/3 17.6Jasprit Bumrah to Lendl Simmons. FOUR, over point and short third man, a thick edge helps West Indies keep one foot into the final? Need 20 off 12.

    • 17.5Jasprit Bumrah to Lendl Simmons. 2 runs, Pandya makes dive to keep it to two at long off

    • 17.4Jasprit Bumrah to Lendl Simmons. SIX, he connects, finally, and India's best fielders Jadeja and Kohli combine to take a catch at the ropes. Is it OUT? No, it's a SIX! Jadeja's foot touched the ropes after taking the catch. Kohli took the pass from Jadeja. WI need 26 off 14

    • 17.3Jasprit Bumrah to Lendl Simmons. no run, swing and a miss again, Wankhede crowd rising again. Need 32 off 15

    • 17.2Jasprit Bumrah to Lendl Simmons. no run, swing and a miss on another slow ball. Wankhede finding its confidence back... WI need 32 off 16

    • 17.1Jasprit Bumrah to Lendl Simmons. no run, nice, slow short ball outside off left alone

    • End of over 17 ( 9 Runs )WI 159/3 16.6Ashish Nehra to Lendl Simmons. 1 run, single to long off. 9 off the over, WI need 32 off the last 3. India need wickets, measly overs and what not to save themselves from crashing out.

A rampant Indian cricket team, buoyed by their recent wins over Bangladesh and Australia, will take on an inspired West Indies team in the second semi-final of the ICC World T20 2016. The second semi-final match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2016 will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, on Thursday evening March 30, 2016. The iconic stadium, which hosted the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 will host another key match of an ICC event. The four best teams make it to the semi-final and it will be two who will play the final.

India qualified for the semi-final round after a tough run in the Group 2, wherein they suffered an embarrassing defeat to New Zealand in the first match by 47 runs. The defeat to New Zealand by a big margin saw India’s Net Run Rate plunging to -2.35, and it was a tough road ahead for MS Dhoni and his men to make it to the semi-finals of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2016.

However, India bounced back in style to slam their arch rivals Pakistan in Kolkata by 6 wickets, and their next match, against Bangladesh, saw one of the most entertaining games of the T20 World Cup 2016. Indian batting flopped against Bangladesh, and it was their last over heroics that saw Bangladesh losing 3 wickets in the last 3 balls while needing only 2 runs to win resulted in India’s win. India trumped Bangladesh by just 1 run.

The game against Australia in Mohali turned out to be a virtual quarter-final for India. The team was nowhere on the track while they were chasing 161 to win, but Virat Kohli’s onslaught saw Steven Smith’s men being knocked out of the tournament. Kohli has been at the centre stage of India’s recent wins, and his form will be crucial for the hosts in the last 2 games, if they have to win this T20 World Cup 2016.

On the other hand, West Indies slayed South Africa, Sri Lanka and England but lost to Afghanistan in an entertaining low-scoring game to make it to the semi-final round. West Indies have been right up to the mark in all departments, and India will face a stiff challenge to trump the 2012 champions at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and advance to the final.

The winner of this game will face the winner of the first semi-final between New Zealand and England at Delhi. The final of the T20 World Cup 2016 will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. This is the sixth edition of the ICC World T20 and the first one in India. The first edition was played in South Africa in 2007. The 2009 edition was played in England, followed by West Indies in 2010, Sri Lanka in 2012 and Bangladesh in 2014. This is the third consecutive time that the tournament is being hosted by a subcontinent nations. The first ever final of a World T20 was played between arch-rivals India and Pakistan which saw India triumph.

Pakistan beat Sri Lanka in the final to win the second edition, England won the third edition beating arch-rivals Australia while West Indies upset host nation Sri Lanka to lay their hands on the coveted silverware in 2012. The year 2014 finally saw Sri Lanka's moment. They got lucky the third time when they beat a strong Indian side to lift the trophy. Post the second semi-final; we will know which two sides will be playing at Eden Gardens. Expect an intense contest.
