David Warnerc Zak Crawley b Ollie Robinson 0 22 0 0 0
5.6
Ollie Robinson to David Warner, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Just as I write that, Ollie Robinson strikes! England do get an early breakthrough. Commentator's curse? Maybe. This is a lovely delivery. Perfect line and length. It is just ahead of a good length ball which means it draws the batter forward. Lands and moves away. It takes the outside edge of Warner's bat as he looks to defend and goes into the hands of Crawley at third slip. Ollie Robinson is delighted. Warner walks back for a duck. Warner actually put in a small stride forward. He ended up poking at the delivery. He was more worried about the back of a length ball and hence, did not put in a big stride which cost him his wicket. This was quite similar to the way Wood set him up in the previous game.
Usman Khawajac Joe Root b Stuart Broad 6 26 0 0 23.08
8.6
Stuart Broad to Usman Khawaja, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Khawaja now goes and England have both the openers back in the hut very cheaply. Two centuries in the last game but falls for a single digit score here. Broad also has one now. Hard hands once again. This is on a length and around off, it lands and moves away. Khawaja pushes at it with hard hands, he plays it well ahead of his body. Not what you want to do in seaming conditions. It goes off the outside edge and it is taken by Root at first slip. Australia in trouble here. England could have easily had three but this is a superb start for them.
Marnus Labuschagneb Stuart Broad 44 53 9 0 83.02
22.1
Stuart Broad to Marnus Labuschagne, OUT! TIMBER! What just happened there! That looked ugly! Marnus Labuschagne has been cleaned up around his legs but that dismissal just seemed ugly. Just like always, he shuffles across, gets over to the off pole. Broad goes full and straight on middle, Marnus Labuschagne gets into a tangle as he tries to clip it on the leg side. In the end, loses his balance, falls onto the ground. Misses the ball by a long way and the ball shatters the stumps behind. Broad is elated and Marnus Labuschagne is not sure about what just happened. It was a really good innings till it lasted but Australia needed him to go on. Replays actually shows he just planted his front foot way too across and hence, lost balance. Very unusual from Marnus Labuschagne. Really not sure what he just did there. England now back on top.
Steven Smithc Zak Crawley b Ollie Robinson 0 2 0 0 0
9.5
Ollie Robinson to Steven Smith, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! What a start for England! Crawley takes the catch, he put one down before but holds onto this one. Smith walks back for a duck! This is slightly shorter than a length, around off. Again Steven Smith shuffles way across and tries to block it but this moves away a bit and takes the outside edge. It goes to Zak Crawley at second slip who takes a low catch. Perfect start for England. Yet another low score for Steven Smith.
Travis Headc Ollie Robinson b Chris Woakes 101 113 12 0 89.38
48.5
Chris Woakes to Travis Head, OUT! TAKEN! Oh...Head departs on the very next ball after getting to the century! A fuller delivery on middle. Head looks to work it away towards the on side but gets the leading edge again. This time the ball travels towards mid on and Ollie Robinson there takes a good catch. So Head departs and this dangerous partnership is finally broken.  Head walks back after another brilliant knock. His team was under the pump when he walked out to the middle and has managed to take his team to a much better position with his counter-attacking century. Can England capitalize on this breakthrough? They need a couple of quick wickets to get back into this game.
Cameron Greenc Zak Crawley b Mark Wood 74 109 8 0 67.89
57.6
Mark Wood to Cameron Green, OUT! TAKEN! Wood gets the wicket, he was not giving any freebie in this over. He was bowling with fire and pace. Excellent execution also, changes and comes in around the wicket. serves a short ball, on middle. Cameron Green looks to pull but it takes the top edge towards deep mid-wicket where Zak Crawley takes a good catch.
Alex Carey (W)b Chris Woakes 24 60 2 0 40
70.3
Chris Woakes to Alex Carey, OUT! BOWLED! Carey departs now! Well bowled by Woakes though. He bowls it on a length, right on the off pole. Carey leaves a bit of the gap between his bat and pads while looking to block it and that proves to be his undoing. The ball takes the inside edge and goes back onto hit the stumps.
Mitchell Starcc Rory Burns b Mark Wood 3 17 0 0 17.65
63.2
Mark Wood to Mitchell Starc, OUT! CAUGHT! Mark Wood strikes for England early on Day 2 and sends back Starc! Wood hurls a bumper, around middle. Starc looks to pull but the ball hurries onto him and it goes off the top edge, high in the air, just over the square leg fielder. Rory Burns at square leg backtracks and takes a good catch. Big wicket this for England as Starc could be very dangerous at this stage of the innings.
Pat Cummins (C)c Zak Crawley b Mark Wood 2 12 0 0 16.67
67.1
Mark Wood to Pat Cummins, OUT! TAKEN! The trap has worked and Wood has been rewarded with a wicket here! “Put the cheese in the trap, in goes the mouse, off goes his head” the late great Bob Willis once said on air and this is exactly what happened. The ploy was simple. Have people back for the hook shot and have the relentless Mark Wood give the batters chin music. This is a short one, on middle. Cummins goes for the hook and hits it straight to deep square leg. Zak Crawley takes his third catch of the innings and Australia lose their skipper.
Nathan Lyonb Stuart Broad 31 27 1 3 114.81
75.4
Stuart Broad to Nathan Lyon, OUT! Cleaned up! Stuart Broad knocks over Nathan Lyon and the Aussies are finally bundled out. Broad bowls a length ball, right on top of off and that's where you want to be as a pacer. Lyon backs away and looks to clobber it on the leg side but gets comprehensively beaten. The ball goes on to knock over the bails and Broad has his third wicket. Australia finish with 303 runs on the board.

Rory Burnsrun out (Marnus Labuschagne) 0 6 0 0 0
1.4
Pat Cummins to Zak Crawley, OUT! RUN OUT! Absolutely catastrophic for England and Rory Burns! On off, Zak Crawley presses forward and pushes it towards covers. He wants the single but his partner hesitates a bit. They do go for it in the end but just that split second of hesitation has cost England big time. Marnus Labuschagne picks up the ball and hits the stumps at the batter's end. The third umpire is called in and the replay shows that Burns does not have any part of his bat inside the crease. Well, he doesn't get off the hook twice.
Zak Crawleyc Travis Head b Pat Cummins 18 21 3 0 85.71
7.6
Pat Cummins to Zak Crawley, OUT! TAKEN! Pat Cummins strikes and gets the wicket of Zak Crawley! The ploy to keep a short leg fielder in place has done wonders for the hosts and England lose their second wicket. Cummins serves a back-of-a-length ball, angling in from middle. Crawley looks to keep it out but it goes off the inside edge and the ball pops up straight towards Travis Head at short leg who takes a sitter. England's trouble with the bat continues!
Dawid Malanc Alex Carey b Pat Cummins 25 64 5 0 39.06
21.4
Pat Cummins to Dawid Malan, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Oh, dear! A wicket against the run of play and Malan would not believe his luck here! He gets strangled down the leg side. This is a length ball, angling in from leg. Malan looks to flick but he only manages a tickle to the right of the keeper. Alex Carey moves there and pouches it with ease. Huge blow this for England as these two were looking quite good in the middle.
Joe Root (C)lbw b Pat Cummins 34 46 3 0 73.91
23.4
Pat Cummins to Joe Root, OUT! LBW! The Aussie skipper gets rid of the English skipper and England are in deep, deep trouble now! This is a length ball, just outside off and nipping back in sharply. Root stays back, hops in his crease to flick it away but misses and gets rapped in front. Cummins appeals and the umpire raises his dreaded finger in no time. Root is not even bothered with a prolonged discussion as to whether he should take the review or not. He walks away simply after having a word with his partner. Huge moment in this Test match as England's most dependable batter, Joe Root walks back to the hut.
Ben Stokesc Nathan Lyon b Mitchell Starc 4 11 1 0 36.36
24.6
Mitchell Starc to Ben Stokes, OUT! TAKEN! That is a top catch from the GOAT at backward point. England are falling like a pack of cards now and the Aussies are all over the tourists! This was a short-of-a-length delivery, just outside off. Stokes hangs back and cuts hard but finds Nathan Lyon at backward point who moves to his left quickly, gets low and takes a very good low catch. Stokes stands there in disbeleif and then makes his way back to the pavilion.
Ollie Popec Alex Carey b Scott Boland 14 23 3 0 60.87
30.5
Scott Boland to Ollie Pope, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Scott Boland is just relentless and does get the breakthrough. Boland pitches it a bit further up and keeps the ball in the channel around off. Ollie Pope is forced into pressing forward and he does so, looking to push it out wide. The ball shapes away after pitching and the outside edge is taken. Alex Carey moves to his right and takes an easy catch.
Sam Billings (W)c Scott Boland b Cameron Green 29 48 6 0 60.42
41.5
Cameron Green to Sam Billings, OUT! TAKEN! The plan has worked for Australia and they get Sam Billings. A well-directed short ball from Cameron Green, right around the helmet. Billings cannot get out of the way and goes for the pull shot. He is a bit late and the ball goes off the top edge and flies towards the fine leg fence. Scott Boland takes an easy catch and this opens the floodgates for Australia to wrap things up here.
Chris Woakesc Alex Carey b Mitchell Starc 36 48 5 1 75
46.2
Mitchell Starc to Chris Woakes, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! JEEZ! What a review from the Aussies! This was a good-length ball, around leg. Woakes looks to flick but he only manages a tickle, which ricochets off his hips and then goes to the keeper. Alex Carey, behind the sticks makes no mistake and Starc appeals. The umpire says no and Pat Cummins opts for a review. The UltraEdge shows a spike as the ball was passing the bat and Chris Woakes is a goner.
Mark Woodb Pat Cummins 16 15 2 0 106.67
47.4
Pat Cummins to Mark Wood, OUT! BOWLED! Pat Cummins has the last laugh and gets his fourth wicket of the innings. He serves a length ball, around off. Wood hangs back and looks to slog but misses it completely. The ball cannons onto his off stump and England are bundled out for 188!
Stuart Broadb Mitchell Starc 0 4 0 0 0

Stuart Broad to David Warner, OUT! TAKEN! Stuart Broad has done it again! He proves to be David Warner's nemesis yet again as Warner walks back on a pair. Length again, this time there's some width on offer. Warner is stuck on the crease and instead of thrashing at it, he looks to work it past backward point. The ball though goes uppishly to the right of point and Ollie Pope flies to his right to grab a stunner. Just the start the visitors were looking for. Can they build on it?
Usman Khawajac Sam Billings b Mark Wood 11 38 2 0 28.95
14.1
Mark Wood to Usman Khawaja, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! That is a brute of a delivery from Mark Wood. Wood bends his back and angles in a pacy short delivery at 147.7 kph. The ball is directed right at the helmet and given the sting on the ball, Usman Khawaja had almost no chance of getting out of the way. Khawaja did try but just couldn't keep his bat down. The ball just comes off the gloves and Sam Billings takes a sharp catch to his right. England are looking for more wickets here.
Marnus Labuschagnec Sam Billings b Chris Woakes 5 11 0 0 45.45
3.1
Chris Woakes to Marnus Labuschagne, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! The dangerman, Marnus Labuschagne is sent packing early. A length ball, around middle and angling down the leg side. Labuschagne shuffles across his stumps a bit and just like the first innings, that's his undoing. Labuschagne looks to flick it fine but gets a slight tickle on it and Sam Billings springs to his left to take a great catch. That's his first catch in Test cricket and boy, the whole team is pumped up for him. Root shakes his hand and maybe, just maybe England have an opportunity here.
Steven Smithc Dawid Malan b Mark Wood 27 62 4 0 43.55
28.2
Mark Wood to Steven Smith, OUT! TAKEN! GONE GONE GONE! Smith is gone and Wood is delighted! I would be too if I got Smith out and took 4 wickets against the Aussies! But Wood has been sensational with the ball and he has deserved this. One would say that he has deserved a lot more wickets but hasn't got them! The barrage of short deliveries continues from Wood and he bowls a sharp one at Smith's body. Smith shuffles a bit inside the line looking to pull but he can't keep it on the ground as he gets the top edge. The ball goes straight to fine leg and Dawid Malan takes an easy catch.
Scott Bolandc Sam Billings b Mark Wood 8 33 0 0 24.24
22.3
Mark Wood to Scott Boland, OUT! TAKEN! Gone this time! A faint edge and Scott Boland has to walk back! Well bowled by Wood. He bowls a bumper, right at the body. It is a rising one too and too good for the nightwatchman. Boland looks to keep it out but gets a thin edge back to the keeper. Billings does it with ease and Boland's resilience ends. He has done his job well though.
Travis Headc Sam Billings b Mark Wood 8 16 1 0 50
26.2
Mark Wood to Travis Head, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Wood gets his third! It is Broad who is going past the edges, getting the ball to hit the batters on the pads and Wood is reaping the rewards with his short bowling! A short one, down the leg side. Head shuffles a bit inside the line to work it away but gets a faint tickle on it. There is a noise as the ball passes the bat and Billings does the rest behind the stumps. The umpire obliges this time and gives Head his marching orders. A really good morning for England so far but they will need to finish this off quickly. Cameron Green is the new man at the crease.
Cameron Greenlbw b Stuart Broad 23 47 3 0 48.94
43.5
Stuart Broad to Cameron Green, OUT! LBW! Broad finally gets his man! He has deserved a wicket for the way he has bowled this morning! The 49-run stand is broken and England needed this big time. Length ball, on off. Green gets forward to block but the ball nips away a bit and Green gets hit on the pads. Broad puts on a celebrappeal - meaning that he is celebrating even before the decision is made! But the umpire is not convinced and there are also overthrows when someone throws the ball and misses the stumps. Root decides to review this one. No bat on that and Ball Tracker has the ball smashing into the off pole after hitting in line!
Alex Carey (W)c Sam Billings b Stuart Broad 49 88 4 0 55.68
55.1
Stuart Broad to Alex Carey, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! GONE THIS TIME! After surviving a couple of close calls, Alex Carey walks off on 49! He batted well though. Made those reprives count and put on a good recovery towards the end. This is full and way, way outside off. Carey goes at it with his hands only. The ball goes past the inside edge and there is a faint edge. Billings takes a good low catch and there is an appeal. Carey stands his ground for a moment but walks off just after the finger is raised. No review this time!
Mitchell Starcc Ollie Pope b Mark Wood 1 4 0 0 25
46.1
Mark Wood to Mitchell Starc, OUT! TAKEN! No review needed this time and the workhorse, Wood, gets his third 5-wicket haul in Tests! He has been a sensational bowler for England and has deserved each and every one of these wickets! He soaks in the applause from the crowd and Australia lose their eighth wicket. A bumper, on the body of Starc. He looks to block but gets the inside edge on the thigh pad and straight to short leg. Ollie Pope takes it with ease.

Mark Wood to Pat Cummins, OUT! CASTLED! Career-best figures for Mark Wood! Finally, it feels like he has been rewarded for his efforts! Length ball, on off. Cummins goes for the massive heave but connects only with the thin air around his bat. The ball shatters the stumps. Wood leads his team off the field and soaks in the applause from this Hobart crowd. That ends the innings and Australia are bowled out for 155!

Cameron Green to Rory Burns, OUT! BOWLED! Oh, dear. Oh, dear dear. What has happened there? A session that was dominated by England ends with their opening stand broken! Length ball, just outside off. This comes in with the angle and gets quite close to the off pole. Now, Burns decides to leave it a bit too late and that proves to be his undoing. The ball takes the bottom part of the bat and goes onto hit the stumps! A much-needed wicket for Australia and that is Tea on Day 3!
Zak Crawleyc Alex Carey b Cameron Green 36 66 7 0 54.55
22.2
Cameron Green to Zak Crawley, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Cameron Green is turning this match on its head all by himself! Green pitches this one up, around off and this one seems to be going on with the angle but just straightens a bit, enough to get the knick. Zak Crawley is drawn forward and he plays for the line but is undone by the late movement. The ball goes off the outside edge and Alex Carey dives to his right to take a sharp catch. Crawley was looking so good out there and now the visitors are certainly under pressure with two new batters out in the middle.

Cameron Green to Dawid Malan, OUT! Chopped on! Cameron Green does get the wicket of Dawid Malan and he is elated. Malan was troubled by the short ball and that extra zip that Green is getting off the surface. This is on a good length, close to off stump and just nips back in ever so slightly. Dawid Malan is indecisive and has a late poke at it. His feet don't move and the inside edge is found. The ball goes back onto hit the off stump. Is this the opening the hosts were looking for?
Joe Root (C)b Scott Boland 11 31 1 0 35.48

Scott Boland to Joe Root, OUT! BOWLED! Oh, boy. Speechless. Simply speechless. Root has a wry smile on his face and to be honest, there is nothing else he can do. Boland though is over the moon and he can do no wrong in the series. That is a really unfortunate way to get out. Lands on a length, on off and simply does not rise up! It shoots low and goes under the bat as Root is in the crease to block it. It goes onto hit the off pole and Root walks back. Things could get over soon now.

Mitchell Starc to Ben Stokes, OUT! TAKEN! GONE! England in big, big trouble now! A brilliant catch by Lyon and Starc is pumped! He gets the important wicket of Stokes at the right moment for Australia. A surprise bumper, on middle. Stokes goes for the pull but gets the top edge. The ball goes towards deep square leg. Pat Cummins to Ollie Pope, OUT! Cleaned up! The last of the recognized batters perishes and Australia all over the visitors right now. Scott Boland to Sam Billings, OUT! CAUGHT! Soft dismissal for Sam Billings and England are just crumbling under pressure. A length ball, angling into middle and leg. There is a bit of an extra bounce on offer for Scott Boland and that is what catches Billings out. He doesn't move his feet and is caught on the crease as he flicks it uppishly and straight into the hands of the skipper, Pat Cummins at mid on. It's all but over now for the visitors.
