Zimbabwe vs West Indies 2017-18

West Indies, after a pleasing series against England, are now set to play Zimbabwe in a two Test series at the latter’s home. West Indies, who failed to qualify for the World Cup and will play the qualifiers for the same, had won a Test, an ODI and the only T20I in England. The results were a boost to West Indies’ confidence as they had put up some impressive performances despite the defeats. On the other hand are Zimbabwe, whose last international series was in Sri Lanka where they lost the only Test but won the ODIs 3-2.

Though West Indies seem to be a relatively stronger team, playing Zimbabwe at home will not be an easy task for them. This is the first time since 2013 that the two teams will face each other in Tests. This series holds much importance for the hosts, as Brendan Taylor has made a comeback into the national side, resigning from the Kolpak deal he had signed post the 2015 World Cup. After a tour match, the two teams will play the Tests. The first Test commences from October 21 and will be played at the Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo. The second match will be played at the same venue starting from October 29.
