That is it from us today. Good night and take care!
Stanikzai: 'We have won two consecutive matches, it was a great game. Yeah, the openers started very well. Two big partnerships helped us today. At one time, Zimbabwe had wickets in hand but we bowled well in the last 15 overs. Shahzad played a historic knock today.'
Chigumbura: A few more runs could have made the difference. There was no assistance to the spinners today. It is always good to reach the milestones but the most important thing is to win games. The pitch played better today and the way how Shahzad played today, he showed how good it was. We should have rotated the strike. They got more singles than us. It's a disappointing to play on a better wicket and be 20 runs short. We would want to start the New Year with a win.
Shahzad (Man of the Match): Thank you, thanks to Allah. We know about this pitch. We had a plan to play out the overs. Two coinsecutive wins against a Test team, it is a proud moment for us. Today, pitch was a bit different from the previous game.
So, this win means that Afghanistan will finish this year as the 10th ranked team in the ODIs. What an effor this has been from them. After Zimbabwe scored 253, it was always going to be tough but Afghanistan started patiently. After the end of the first powerplay, Shahzad started playing his shots. He was well supported by Nabi from the other end. Zimbabwe tried to make a comeback by taking a few quick wickets in the middle overs but Shahzad kept his cool to see his side home. Zimbabwe are now in deep, deep trouble. Winning the next three matches from here is going to be an hurculean task. What makes it even tougher is the form Afghanistan are in.
47.4Luke Jongwe to Mohammad Shahzad. 1 run, Shahzad has sealed the win for his team. Afghanistan win by 4 wickets with 14 balls to spare. He is delighted and why shouldn't he be? His 131 is the highest score by an Afhgani player in an ODI.. Coming to the delivery, it was fuller length delivery and Shahzad muscled it wide of mid-on to get a single
47.3Luke Jongwe to Mohammad Shahzad. FOUR, makes room and cracks this length delivery over cover to level the scores
47.2Luke Jongwe to Mohammad Shahzad. 2 runs, sways away from the line of this fuller length delivery and clubs it wide of long-on for a couple
47.2Luke Jongwe to Mohammad Shahzad. wide, dangled full but outside the leg stump and that is called a wide
47.1Luke Jongwe to Mohammad Shahzad. no run, fuller length and just outside off, Shahzad jams it to short third man, Mirwais wanted a single but sent back in time
Luke Jongwe [6.0-0-28-0] is back into the attack

End of over 47 ( 13 Runs )AFG 246/6 46.6Taurai Muzarabani to Mirwais Ashraf. SIX, he picked his spot on this slower delivery bowled on length, and lofted it over long-on. Ashraf has played a handy knock today
46.5Taurai Muzarabani to Mirwais Ashraf. 2 runs, well fielded at cover, but that is a good running, it was a fuller length and Ashraf drives it to cover, the fielder makes a diving save, but the ball deflects off his hands, the batsmen take two
46.4Taurai Muzarabani to Mirwais Ashraf. no run, slower yorker and on the stumps, Ashraf jams it back to the bowler
46.3Taurai Muzarabani to Mirwais Ashraf. FOUR, that is the shot of a top class batsman, full and outside off, Ashraf square drives to beat the backward point fielder, that went like a bullet
46.2Taurai Muzarabani to Mohammad Shahzad. 1 run, full and outside off, takes this on full and creams it to long-off, was looking for the second run initially, changed his mind at after completing the first run
46.1Taurai Muzarabani to Mohammad Shahzad. no run, very full and well outside off, Shahzad looks to slice it with laden feet, does not get anything on it
Taurai Muzarabani [6.0-0-24-0] is back into the attack
AFG require 21 off 24 balls
