David Warner on Wednesday pulled up a surprise during a Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) match when he switched stance to bat right-handed against Chris Gayle.
Warner will feature in Sylhet Sixers' games on January 18 and 19 before leaving.
Warner finished with an unbeaten 61 off 36 balls with 47 coming with a left-hander's guard and 14 with a right-hander's.
David Warner notched up his maiden BPL half-century and along with Taskin Ahmed, sealed a close five-run win for Sylhet Sixers.
Warner hit off-spinner Mehidy Hasan for three sixes in one over at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium before a mix-up saw him run out for 14 off 13 balls.
Warner was blamed as the instigator of an incident in which fielder Cameron Bancroft attempted to alter the ball with a piece of yellow sandpaper.
Warner replaces Bangladesh batsman Nasir Hossain as the skipper of the franchise.
Warner will be playing for Sylhet Sixers for the upcoming edition of BPL.
This is the third T20 franchise Warner will have played for since being handed a 12-month suspension in March for his role in the ball-tampering scandal.
Sylhet Sixers later went on to file a complaint with the BPL governing council against the umpires, who failed to gain proper assistance.
